The bourbon is quite muted by the vermouth and cognac; the latter, having a common origin from the grapevine, form a stable tandem, and the remaining American adds only strength and tartness to the taste.
Overall, it's unclear. It's not bad, but it doesn't inspire much enthusiasm either.
