"Ah, youth..." Latro watched the two girls affectionately as they exchanged tender gestures. "It's an interesting idea, but I think you're approaching the issue from the wrong angle. You're close friends, right? That means there's some respect and mutual love between you. Doesn't being together bring you joy? Not everyone is lucky enough to have such a bond in life; you shouldn't throw it away."
He gestured excitedly.
"We're on the verge of a major conflict, in case you haven't noticed! You like shooting, don't you, Elichka? I do too. Look at this!" He pulled out a revolver and weighed it in his hand. "I've been wanting to show it off to someone. Dark got me this – it's amazing, I can't wait to try it out. And let me tell you," he said, nodding the barrel emphatically, "I'm going to fire a thousand rounds from it, maybe even ten thousand. And while I'm enjoying that every day, you'll be stuck in prison – alone and miserable, and maybe even executed. Or, if you shoot her, uh, Reyla, right? Then you'll be in the exact same predicament, and Eli will be feeding the worms in the ground. It's a lose-lose situation. And there's not much honor in being "mercifully" shot by a close friend in the comfort of your own home. A warrior is not a sick animal to be put down. It's much better to take a hundred or so enemies of the empire with you to the grave, or even better, to live for two hundred years and be remembered on the first pages of history books. You're friends, you have an advantage; you can truly help each other."
He raised the barrel of the gun towards the sky.
"So, here's what we're going to do. If you want to shoot, I'm in, but not with live ammunition! Use this opportunity to become better. To make it more interesting, let's make a bet. For example, the loser has to do whatever the winner tells them to. It's a classic, or anything else you can think of. Just no deaths and no injuries; you'll still have a chance to enjoy both. And, Reyla," he added, "I wouldn't want to lose Eli as a classmate. She's a good girl and a powerful fighter; we need her. Understand that, too. No matter how close you are, you shouldn't be so selfish; Eli is not just your friend."
-- Huh? -- Miya was completely absorbed in her activity and didn't expect to be interrupted. She even flinched a little. Only then did she realize that she might have been too loud. -- I'm sorry if I disturbed you, Anelotta... I'm sorry. I'll be quiet...
— Yes... Yes, it's better to be quiet, no one here is interested in your nonsense... Heh!... — Anelotta suddenly realized where she was and met with surprised and disapproving looks from those around her.
— Yes... Yes, let's just keep it to ourselves; no one here is interested in your nonsense... Hey!... — Anelotta suddenly realized where she was and met the surprised and disapproving gazes of those around her.
Miya nodded with a joyful smile and continued her prayer, maintaining absolute silence.
— Maybe you’re right. But I think that instead of collecting guts on the battlefield and facing your last moments in hellish torment, it’s better to leave instantly and without pain, both mental and physical.
— Friends? — Eli put a finger to her lips and tilted her head to the side, looking puzzled. — Ha-ha, Latro, you’re such a comedian. — Then she walked up close to him and stared into his eyes. — Forget that bore, let’s duel instead.
/Heroist, I have a question for you now. Is your statuette still displayed prominently? I wasn't sure if it was worth roleplaying, so I didn't, but I could have found out more about this thing. I have an idea to pawn off your failures in the Temple for a cleansing ritual./
Today, Ifeon, Linnea, Yosuke, Vespyr, Ryuji, Selena, Relgar, Gilbert, Nao, Spark, and Engar gathered in the forest. It was a rather large group, but the forest was far from small and could accommodate them all. The students planned to do strength training, practice combat in a forest environment, hone their stealth skills, and so on. Linnea couldn't help but notice the sidelong glances from some of those present, as if they were saying she didn't belong here.
Added 1 minute ago I should finish the story by the end of the weekend, otherwise I'll have to either stretch it out or just give up.

I don't think it will work, but yes, I could have if I wanted to.
It seemed that some of those present had already forgotten how she had performed in competitions. Well, that was just another reason to show them that her past combat skills hadn't disappeared. And if not, Ipheon could bring them up to speed during or after the training. After all, he didn't need to follow the same rules as her. However, to avoid embarrassing the other members of the group and herself, most of Nei's answers to possible questions were either brief or nonverbal.
Xenomia regretfully noted the absence of her classmate, but after the prayer, she no longer felt the need to dwell on it. She remembered another important thing – how, during Moriner’s amplifier replacement, Mia saw a terrifying statue on his desk, and the guy said it seemed to bring him bad luck. Back then, Mia stood there foolishly, staring at this unholy object, not knowing what to do, as if paralyzed by superstitious fear. But now, the girl gathered her courage and decided to at least try to do something. She tried to find a church representative who wasn’t currently occupied with services.
