Yeah, the packaging is different at Vkusville. But the chocolate itself is definitely the same. It's decent, although it's a bit pricey – so I usually (in this store, at least) buy this one:
It tastes the same (just without all the mango or strawberry imitations), but it's cheaper.
Today, I decided to cook a large batch of pilaf for the week. I bought a big piece of pork at the store. At home, I started cutting it up, removing a lot of fat – several large chunks. After thinking about it, I put the fat in a pan, rendered some of it, and used it to cook the pilaf. It turned out quite well, and I didn't notice any significant improvement in taste, so there's no real reason to go to the trouble, but it's a perfectly viable method.
It's really delicious. The lychee-rose-raspberry flavor was predictably more appealing, but the second one is also good. While trying to scrape the remaining yogurt from the jar, I understood why it's considered food porn.
This is the salad I made yesterday. Modifications: + Since I was at the dacha, I baked the beets in the coals. It was an interesting experience. + The mushrooms were, accordingly, on skewers. They turned out great, much better than frying them in a pan. - There were no pumpkin seeds. Well, it's a minor issue. - I only had good olive oil. There was no good vinegar at all, so I did without it. However, it still turned out pretty good, although I wanted to try it as in the recipe. Overall, I'm very satisfied. As a bonus, I baked a pear in the coals as an experiment. It caramelized! I didn't expect it, but I was pleased.
I ordered two kilograms of licorice (and some marmalade) from the official Haribo website, and it arrived in about a week, even less – they called me on Thursday and said they would ship it on Monday, and it was already at the post office the following Thursday. Now I just don't know what to choose, it's my licorice, I just love licorice.
Licorice is the food of the gods. Last year, when I was in St. Petersburg, I ate so much of it that it was practically coming out of my ears. But here, it's hard to find.
