I don't remember what happened to me a week ago.

It probably wasn't that great, otherwise you wouldn't have forgotten.

I had a desire to run a game similar to this one. Enough time has passed since the last Mafia game, so the overexposure to monotonous gameplay may have subsided with time. However, considering the overall activity on the forum, I don't have high hopes for gathering the required number of players. Since I don't want to waste effort on something that is likely to yield no results, I won't be working on the setting just yet. Below, you can express your interest, and if we gather enough potential players, the game will move into the development stage and begin shortly thereafter. if we gather the required number of potential players

How many is that approximately? The most optimistic scenario right now is about 6-8 people, at best. It's unlikely that anything will come of it.

I don't think it's worth getting involved in this. Even if we find people, most of them won't play properly.

If it had classic gameplay, I might reconsider...

Roughly, how many? The most optimistic scenario right now is about 6-8 people, at best. It's unlikely that anything will come of it.

The minimum required number is 9 people, but since I'm taking into account the fact that some players will inevitably have low activity, this number increases to 15-17. So, yes, as I mentioned earlier, the chances of this happening are quite small. But if, by some fantastic coincidence, regular users become interested and those who occasionally played here before join, then we can give this idea the green light.

It is also worth considering that low activity was often due to the inflated list of roles/players and, to some extent, the resulting prolonged gameplay. So, as I see it, a setting with 9 players might not be such a bad idea. My concern here is rather that there might be fewer characters than desired for the intended premise.

I'm interested.

If it had classic gameplay, I might consider it...

What's the difference between regular gameplay and role-playing gameplay?

The difference is that players write from accounts specifically created by the GM for the game, and all reasoning must be presented from the perspective of the controlled character.

and what is the purpose of such complexity? I don't understand it right away.

I'm not an expert, but at least on this forum, most players know each other, including their playing style, and can make certain assumptions based on this knowledge. And role-playing helps to eliminate this factor.

ok, I understand, thanks a lot!

I was just thinking that I absolutely don't want to return to playing Mafia. Because I've always taken accusations of being a Mafia player as a personal insult, I hated playing as the Mafia, and I wasn't very good at analyzing the game. So, if I do join, it will just be to make sure the game can happen, but I won't be expecting to do much.
And yes, I agree – 6-10 players is enough, given our level of activity.

Treat it as a personal insult directed at the character you are roleplaying.
