New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
This is not a bug. When the AI controlling human troops (in auto-battle or with an uncontrolled ballista) decides it's time to retreat, it suggests this to the player. When using Blindness/Berserk, keep in mind that even an uncontrolled ballista can allow the enemy to escape (it depends on luck: the AI will decide whether it's time to retreat or not). After agreeing to retreat, there may be another message offering to buy off the enemy instead of retreating, but this happens much less often.
This only works for ballista/cannons (and for regular units in auto-battle, including in quick battles). It never works for ranged towers, catapults, healing huts, or berserk units. The logic is as follows: a ballista/cannon is a regular ranged unit, and the AI controls it according to general rules (which include the option to flee). The other machines (as well as units under berserk) are controlled by the AI according to their own special rules, which do not include the option to flee.
Usually, the AI wants to flee if there are few units left and it sees that they can all be defeated in one turn. It should also be noted that this question about fleeing is asked only once per battle. If the player refused to flee, then they will not be offered this option again in that battle.
Your corpses don't prevent the opponent from resurrecting those who are in the same cells.
You can't resurrect while your living stack is there.
