I understand that there hasn't been much activity here lately, but still...
I'm tired of playing the campaigns over and over again, so I'm currently playing all the individual maps on the highest difficulty level. Almost all of them are quite manageable.
Never mind, the point is that for the first time in all my years of playing, I managed to hire a hero who already had an army. I decided to defend the castle, at least with a garrison, but in the end, I managed to hold it off quite easily. :)

Nothing surprising. And it's not a bug.
It's an enemy hero who fled/bribed his way out of battle.

By the way, I recently encountered a situation where my liches, right before an attack, received something like an antimoral buff! For a second, a cloud with lightning appeared above the unit, which usually appears after visiting already looted pyramids! I'm seeing this for the first time. This happened right after visiting a pyramid.
Another time, right before the castle, in the sands, I found the Shield of Anduran on a corpse (skeleton). It was fun.

This is just bad luck. Visiting a looted pyramid reduced your hero's luck by 2. As a result, he ended up with negative luck, which is what triggered the effect.

I've seen anti-morality, but this is the first time in 20 years I've seen anti-bad luck.
