It's not a given; at level 18, both will have fully developed combat and magic skills, meaning they'll have complete resistance to magic, making the Chaos Knight's attacking spells useless. The Chaos Knight will only have a handful of spells left, while the Haven mage has a single Mirror Image spell, which is quite powerful. Haven might win.

NOW you should practice first, play at least 5 matches... and figure out how things work... :) ... of course you can win with any type, because the main thing is the skill or so to speak the experience of the player himself:))

While playing on the Equilibrium map, I noticed something: if before (at least on the Whirlwind map), it was possible to create an illusion of a Black Dragon, in this mod, they decided to remove that possibility.

This significantly reduces the chances of Order against Chaos; in fact, only Titans can realistically counter Black Dragons, which means you'll have to give up on mages and maybe even genies, which will significantly complicate clearing neutral creatures.

I don't think the odds will decrease. Perhaps the tactics will change, but that's up to the player. Genies are more versatile than just illusionists. When there are enough of them, even a simple bolt will be more effective than various illusions.

In general, it seems that the mod didn't remove the imbalance at all, but simply wanted to make players hesitate more when choosing. So that it wouldn't be just 100% genies, vampires, cyclops, etc.

Well, Djinns will always be a very useful unit, but against Chaos Devils, they become virtually defenseless, so it's probably not entirely correct to deploy Djinns against Chaos.

Well, in fact, they were "defenseless" against Chaos Devils even in Whirlwinds. There aren't many units that are truly defenseless against Chaos Devils. Besides Chaos Devils, there are many other units in the army. And even Naga, at best, will last only a little longer.

With Nagas in the army instead of Djinns, it will be more difficult to clear the map without losses, so you'll need to level up at least two mages, and the heroes should have a good amount of mana - for illusions, slowing, forgetfulness, blinding, and berserk.
