Yes, the first and third options are good.
The hounds could also be red. Or iron. Or... Winged ;) Although, I like the hearts a bit more, despite the clever wordplay with "hounds."
By the way, "hounds" can be replaced with "dogs." Maybe this is even a better wordplay, because a dog doesn't necessarily chase; it can have other duties. Perhaps this will give them slightly broader profile and quests...

Added 1 minute ago I don't like "hounds" and "dogs" because it sounds overly subservient and aggressive. "Iron Hearts" is better. True, it sounds a bit, uh, heartless, but it's the best option so far.

Golden shields are good, but no one really invests in shields.
It doesn't always sound right, like... Golden Blood, which could imply that we should be paid in gold for the enemy's blood.
