The fix won't download. It gives an error: "The request or response is too large."

With Fix3, I couldn't even create a random map. Moreover, I downloaded and installed Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete, installed the latest February version of VCMI on it, and I got the same error. I suspect that since the developers are still working on it (VCMI), and they presented a map editor for VCMI in January, they simply messed something up somewhere. In general, the solution seems to be to install the December version of VCMI (i.e., the one that was available when Fix2 was released).

When will FIX4 be released, and is it better to install it from scratch or is there something else that needs to be done?

FIX4 will be released later (the VCMI developers have already released many versions of their package, but the bug has not yet been fixed). In principle, if the random map generator in VCMI is not needed, you can stay on FIX3 without any problems. It is installed on top of the main distribution and includes all previous changes.

I currently have the installer for the first version and the first version is installed.

In order to be able to create random maps in VCMI, you first need to install the release version 0.99, and then apply the latest build on top of it. This way, you will have the latest version.

Or, simply download the mod folder from the release version. I think that should be enough. I'm not entirely sure.

During installation, it displays a message and asks to insert the disc with the setup7 file.
