I have a problem – the main menu is lagging. I tried messing around with compatibility settings, but it didn't help. The game itself runs fine, though.

I don't know why, but everything was working fine until I reached the "Trap" mission (this is the 4th mission of the 1st campaign). I did everything that was required of me in the missions and now I want to cross the bridge, but when I'm halfway across, the game starts saving itself (it says: "saving...") and then it kicks me back to the desktop, and the game closes. If anyone knows a solution to this problem, please let me know, thanks in advance.

And before that, did you make saves manually? Did you encounter any problems?

Hello everyone, dear Heroes fans! I've encountered a serious compatibility problem with the game on Windows 10 (64-bit). The image is distorted, textures are blurred and shimmering—in short, it's terrible. I've already tried various options and tips I found online, but nothing helps. Other games from the same era as Heroes of Might and Magic 5 display and run without any problems.

A bit about my laptop: processor - Intel Core i3 4005u, integrated video card from the same manufacturer, and 4 gigabytes of RAM.

I've tried troubleshooting compatibility, running as administrator, copying files with names similar to DirectX files (d3d9.dll), and editing the settings file via Notepad based on one of the tips (specifically, like this: /topic/9438/)—nothing helped.

Perhaps someone knows what the problem is and if there's any way to solve it?

My situation is even worse – the game is not allowed to write to the disk (the game tries to write its saves and everything else to a folder under MyDocuments/.... and it seems the operating system doesn't like that). As a result, it's impossible to launch the game in Single Player mode; no settings are saved. Everything used to work perfectly, but after another Windows update, this problem started. Any ideas?

Hmm... Windows has messed things up so badly...
Then there are two ideas:
1) dig through Windows settings ("folder properties"?) and disable such strict control over programs.
2) dig through the registry and change the path where the game profiles are saved.
