When the mercenaries dealt the final blow to Loelik, his body collapsed and vanished, and they were thrown back by a shockwave. Now, a marble statue of some dwarven god towered in the middle of the hall. It was adorned with various precious stones, and the dwarf held a book and a staff in his hands. Apparently, it had been in the hall from the very beginning.
After resting following the battle, Funel wrote a short note, which she attached to her raven's leg so that it could quickly deliver news of what happened in Reindirke to the Society.
Having regained their strength before the journey, the expeditioners set out. Soon they arrived back safely. In the new building of the Society, the expeditioners were met by one of the high-ranking members, who thanked them for the work done, and Funel for her persistence and tenacity.
Tiolas was paid his reward and he set off to where he intended. Perhaps, after experiencing death, he will finally decide to take action and stop settling for a hand and a picture of a fairy.
Tsenire was paid her reward and offered the position of staff Necromancer in the new building of the Society.
RiChard was paid his reward and he set off to where he intended. Perhaps he will become a famous gladiator and gain renown throughout the republic.
Emilia and Etala were paid their rewards and they set off to where they intended. But money was not the only reward Emilia received. Soon she will learn that the blacksmith from Tsondoh Sizeb rewarded her not only with new impressions and experience, but also with a child.
Zumaka received her reward and, as before, will continue to accompany her friend Funel on her adventures.
What became of Sayuri is unknown. Perhaps she returned to
Nihon Hain and finally became happy. Perhaps she slit her own stomach and threw herself into an abyss. Perhaps she was caught by bandits, raped, and sold into sexual slavery—who knows?
What became of Krailos is unknown. Perhaps he returned to Tsondoh Sizeb, sold his armor and shield, married Varen's sister, stopped abusing alcohol, started brewing moonshine, had children, and lives happily. Perhaps he was eaten by giant moles. Perhaps a goblin turned him into its girlfriend. Perhaps he was caught by bandits, raped, and sold into sexual slavery—who knows? In any case, for the illegal borrowing of Society property, he was declared wanted and added to the blacklist as an unreliable person. He faced a monetary fine with confiscation of stolen property, community service, or prison time.
And Lyroi is most likely already building a house by the sea together with builder golems, planting fruit trees, and thinking about something of his own.
Hooray! My life is meaningless again and there is no reason to get out of bed in the morning!
