I listened to this audiobook for the first time on a friend's recommendation.
To be honest, at first, the title confused me, and I thought it wouldn't be a very interesting book, but by the end of the first chapter, I completely changed my mind! Overall, it's one of the most interesting books I've ever listened to!
I'll say right away about the FabulaVox narration: it's magnificent! There are 5 voices involved in the narration. All the background sounds are made with high quality, and almost all actions are voiced, just like in computer games. The immersion in the book's atmosphere is complete.

I'll briefly describe what the book is about.
The distant future. A spaceship is carrying Earth animals to another planet. As a result of an anomaly, 5 chimpanzees die. A crew of 2 tries to figure out the cause of the monkeys' death, but that's not all. If they only knew what would happen next, they wouldn't have even touched those monkeys... the subsequent events are reminiscent of the plot of Predator and Alien.
So, the pros: firstly, this is not just an audiobook - it's a whole performance! This greatly helps in perceiving the work and creates the feeling that you are a participant in the events. Secondly, the plot develops quickly, and the events are completely unpredictable. You never know what will happen in the next second. Moreover, towards the end, the plot becomes simply incredible! In addition, the characters themselves are well-developed. Thirdly, the ending of the work, in addition to being unexpected, is also instructive. The main character sacrificed everything that was dear to him for the sake of all mankind, and I think that his act can teach a lot.
Overall, it's an extremely action-packed science fiction thriller with elements of horror. If you like dynamic storytelling, an unconventional plot, and lots of mysteries and puzzles, then welcome. The ending was very pleasing, as happy endings are getting a bit tiresome. So, fans of "Aliens," "Terminator," or, strangely enough, "The Omen" should put on their headphones and listen
