I installed everything according to the manual. The game crashes consistently during the early turns. Can anyone offer advice on what to do? I've already reinstalled it several times.

rework the maps using NHF MP; it seems to be included in the archive.
I found this file, can you tell me how to use it to edit maps?
Added 6 minutes later It's strange, my Maps folder is empty.
You move the maps from the Maps folder to the NHF MS folder, open the program, and edit them, then move the edited maps back to the Maps folder. If you don't have a folder with maps, I don't know how you're even running them.
I haven't used generated maps, only the ones that come with the game itself, like in the "Tribes of the East" expansion. I've read the manual for NHF MS, and I understand how to use it. I can't find the standard maps; they're not in the Maps folder. Where could they be located? Here's my path: D:\Games\Heroes V Gold\Tribes of the East\Maps
I haven't used generated maps, only the ones that come with the game, for example, Legacy. I read the NHF MS manual, and I have no questions about how to use it. I can't find the standard maps; they're not in the Maps folder. Where might they be located? Here's my path: D:\Games\Heroes V Gold\Tribes of the East\Maps
Standard maps have never been in that folder! That's why they're called standard – so that the user doesn't accidentally spoil them!
As a secret – they are located in D:\Games\Heroes V Gold\Tribes of the East\data\data.pak and D:\Games\Heroes V Gold\Tribes of the East\data\a2p1-data.pak.
I don't even know what to say; I've tried everything that was suggested. I even installed a different version and patched the standard maps. The game still crashes on the first turn.

Grekys85 Is the game clean? Have you observed any such problems on different machines? Or maybe it conflicts with something. Do you have EWA installed, by any chance? Or a lot of maps and other mods? Grekys85
I even installed a different version and patched the standard maps. It still crashes the game on the first turn.
How did you patch them??? Did you extract them from the game's archive? They are all patched in the mod. MS NHF is no longer used; the new program is NHF MP. It seems like you have a mix of files from different versions of the mod and the game...

The game is clean; I had the Heroes 5.5 mod installed before, and I uninstalled it. I installed another version of Heroes 5 3.1, and I installed this mod on both versions, but the crashes occur in both. All the maps are the standard 62 that come with the original version.
I opened the NHF MP file data.pak and patched it; the program showed that everything was okay, and the file was marked in green. Then, I put it in the data folder. I tried different options, leaving the original data.pak, using both the original and the patched one at the same time, and using only the patched one. There are no changes. The crashes still occur on the first turn. In the first version, the crash occurs when the AI takes its turn on the first turn; in the second version, after loading the map on the first turn of the player, the game crashes immediately.
It's a very interesting mod with heroes; it's a pity that it's not possible to play it.

Tonight, I will try to completely uninstall the first version, where the Heroes 5.5 mod was installed, and reinstall it on the second version. Maybe there was a conflict with the previous mod, although why, I uninstalled it before installing the mod on the new Heroes.

 Monster! After all, this is not a map file) Grekys85

Maybe the game wasn't completely uninstalled (some parts of the mod, etc., remained)? For example, you can uninstall the game in the usual way, and then delete all its folders (some files might remain). And then install a clean game (preferably in a new directory).
