Yes. Although, I wouldn't say I hadn't considered it myself. Sohei used to seem more interesting, but now things have changed... I just didn't want to copy Alex, as he came to the same conclusion, but we'll see. Unfortunately, the nerf needs to be compensated for somehow.
Ar, I estimated that there would be many more. Including ninja-samurai, a mage like Neyra's (which is funny, because a couple of days before that, she asked for advice on a build), a two-handed dragon, and all sorts of Dreyerians, and a number of imperial characters (besides the mage, the same lizard gunslinger).

Not an option. I don't need non-blockability that much (although non-parry is good), and I don't need the damage; I need to compensate for the loss of agility, accuracy, and survivability. I could also use more willpower, but it seems like that's not possible. And in terms of roleplaying, a new branch is better. A new life means a new, more evil branch. Besides, while I have the opportunity, I should write in the quest log that I found a teacher, instead of searching for one.

I wonder what you would say about the balance if I hadn't suggested that Nere take Akkerwald instead of Alait. In that case, she would have had about one and a half times fewer hit points (if not more), and her dodge and willpower would have been much lower, and she would have missed her attacks much more often.
I don't know, I haven't looked at the stats and abilities of my companions even once during the entire game. I only glanced at Quent's stats a couple of weeks after the start.
