This happened to a Heroes player. Tsukiko puts her hands to her mouth like a megaphone and shouts "Hello!" into the corridor to the north. Then she waits cautiously to see if anything happens. If nothing happens, she shouts "Hello! Hello!" into the corridor to the east.

No, we're just standing still and getting nowhere. There are four directions... So, if we're in different parts of the same corridor, it's unlikely to have angles other than 90 degrees. Although, it might not be a square, but some kind of "staircase", of course.
