Блистает там воздушностью прогалин.
Но между кедров, полных тишиной,
Расщелина по склону ниспадала.
О, никогда под бледною луной
Так пышен не был тот уют лесной...
New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
I'd like to add that EWA already has a lot of new neutral units, but, as SRD rightly pointed out, many of them need balancing.
I wasn't talking about balance, but about the atrocious quality of these models, which are far from being the best. Balance isn't an unsolvable problem, because it all boils down to numbers, but why do we need balanced, yet poorly made units?
Balance and NHC (New Heroes Content) are incompatible in the same sentence.
Balancing so many units could take more than a year. And considering the addition of a ton of new creatures with a million abilities each, it would be problematic, to say the least. As far as I'm concerned, it took so much time to balance the original version with a minimum number of creatures. I agree that clunky models (and there are many) are more of a deterrent.

Why?! There is a utility for balancing – NOIADE... but it takes a lot of time to do this balancing!

He is right.
I have an idea about this.
Take the most successful models (the best ones) and balance them, call it Gold (or something like that), and release it separately.

Will you take it on?!
Unfortunately, no, because I don't know how to make mods (I tried, but I'm too dumb and don't know the basics of C).
Unless you just look at the game, identify which models are good, and pass their names on to someone who knows how to work with the code part of mods.

However, if someone is willing to teach me, I'll give it a try.

It's not that difficult. I figured out how mods work in two weeks of work, and now I'm doing whatever I want (my own neutral creatures based on NCF + replacing creature banks with more interesting versions). And what code are we talking about? An editor + notepad, and that's all you need. After many attempts and the editor/game interaction, experience will come, and then mods of all kinds.

After the long-awaited NHF 0.86 version is released, I will create a manual... there is nothing complicated about it, as the NOIADE utility was created specifically to simplify and automate the balancing of creatures - non-castle creatures, i.e., specifically for NCF! :smile13:

AstralLein, well, if that's the case, then as they say, "Welcome" to the NCF team! :smile24:
Unfortunately, I can only work with existing models! That is, I can create a creature, but only based on an existing model, skeleton, geometry, and existing special effects; I might only recolor the texture, and even that won't be quick. But otherwise, yes, I might be useful for something.
By the way, esteemed psatkha, I downloaded NOIADE for my creatures. I calculated the strength for the Necropolis boss - Thanatos (model from the HoMM5 Chaos Theory mod). He has 6250 HP. NOIADE couldn't handle it. Is it possible to increase the limits in the numbers? :(
