While playing, I encountered two problems:

Main game:
Elven campaign "Ranger" - mission "Refugees"
- the army of Beata, which is supposed to appear according to the plot, does not appear. Or rather, it can be barely seen at the very edge of the map, in a darkened area, but the army does not move anywhere, regardless of the day or any conditions.

Expansion pack "Hammers of Fate":
Campaign "Frida's Dilemma" - mission "Negotiations"
- after the video about the negotiations, the location, the hero's figure, and a cursor in the form of an hourglass appear on the screen. That is, it freezes completely, and the only way to stop it is through the task manager.

These cases have been discussed on the forum, but the proposed solutions are pure guesswork - they help some, but not others. Personally, they didn't help me.

Question - if you play a licensed version of the game (and not a downloaded version from the internet, as I do), do these and similar problems occur?
For example, if you buy it, install it, and everything always works normally, without any patches or fixes?

Enfana, the issue isn't the license here. You most likely need patches. If you're playing the original version (chronicles), it's best to play the latest version 1.6. If you're playing the "Hammers of Fate" expansion, then version 2.1. If you're playing the second expansion, "Tribes of the East," then version 3.1. I have exactly these versions, but all sorts of weird things are happening. That's why I'm asking about the license. Surely there are some lucky people here for whom everything works without any unpleasant surprises? Where did you get the game distribution?

When I played with a license from the publisher Nival a hundred years ago, there were no problems. But those weren't the gold editions, meaning all the games were separate. The gold edition itself might have these bugs. I advise you to either find fixes on the internet or play Tribes of the East with the All_Campains mod (available online and on our website in the file archive). It seems to work fine there.
