Regarding peasants, it used to be true that they needed to be converted into archers, but since the number of trainable units has been limited, it's now pointless. A peasant is the weakest unit in the game, with only 3 HP, but if you turn him into a militia, it might be useful.
There's nothing more useless than turning a peasant into a militia! They die immediately anyway, so at least let them bring in some money! Especially if you have that heroine with the peasant specialization; she's the perfect second hero for knights.

On the topic:
Gremlins (initiative +50%, repair) - not that important! Archmages (increased HP from 18 to 30!, enhanced magic) - not critically necessary! Titan (becomes a ranged attacker) - also kicks pretty well, silly but cool!))) Assassin (increased HP, initiative, poison appears) - not critically necessary, how many battles have you decided the outcome with poison??????? Fury (even faster, more initiative, and now without retaliation) - no retaliation is cool, but they still send the entire army against them! Hydra (+45 to HP, regeneration) - by the time it's their turn, who needs this regeneration! Griffin (Strike from the Sky, increased attack and defense) - but the archer will move back, and you send your griffin right into the thick of the enemy army, what a brilliant idea??? Inquisitor (+4 to attack and defense, 80 HP instead of 54, magic) - not bad, but not convincing, I don't like the church! Angels (Resurrection and +40 HP) - not critical at all! Bears (significant increase in bite strength, claw attack) - extremely important!!!!! Lava Dragon (+5 to defense and attack, +50 HP, enhanced shield) - extremely necessary!!!! Cerberus (no retaliation, 3 heads, speed reaches 8!) - no doubt, do it!!! Demonesses (+50% to HP, chain shot) - here's where it gets interesting, so many praises, but what if against demons?, what if you have units that are weak against them in your army, so it's not that straightforward!!!! Skeleton (starts shooting, more HP, more damage) - skeletons aren't archers, who needs that, so this is the most important improvement!!! Lich (+4 to attack and defense, increased damage and HP, magic) - no, it doesn't work Druids (Significant! increase in attack and damage, improved magic) - no, it doesn't work Unicorns (+5 to attack and defense!!!, +20 HP, blind) - it's okay, but for those who like it.
So, skeleton archers are definitely the way to go, because has anyone ever kept a skeleton with an axe in their army????? THAT'S IT! Skeleton archers are the foundation of the necromancer's army, you can't say the same about the others!!!
I voted for the griffin; it provides significant assistance against neutral creatures and not only against archers. In general, as long as it's in the air, it's difficult to target, and in combination with the "Inspire" skill, the ultimate ability of the griffin can cause a lot of trouble.

Haven't voted for anyone yet... maybe not all candidates have been presented, but I'm confused why Titan got so many votes.... it's undeniable that the ability to shoot is one of the cool abilities, but essentially, it doesn't change much in terms of parameters compared to the Titans from Heroes 2 or Heroes 3... there, their HP was doubled, and their parameters were significantly increased, but here, it slightly increases its parameters and gains the ability to shoot!!! IMHO, I disagree!!!:smile42:
And they also forgot about the elven archers/masters of the bow! Their upgrade is also very important! It increases attack and adds slowing arrows that reduce initiative!
I’ll say right away that I didn’t like the poll; I think it would have been better to create a poll asking which of the 7th-level creature upgrades is most useful for a specific Castle.
Regarding Gremlins and Mages, they said that they aren’t that important. I disagree. Gremlins definitely need to be upgraded; if not from the first day of the game, then certainly from the second. It’s a very useful upgrade in the early stages. The combination of upgraded Gremlins, Gargoyles, and the Mage’s magic allows you to defeat units with almost no losses. Next, Mage -> Archmage. I generally don’t deploy them on the battlefield against archers unless they are well-protected because the Magic Fist isn’t very effective, and if they are shot at, they will die too quickly. Therefore, I’m all for Archmages with Fireball and three hit points! The Titan, even in its unupgraded form, is quite effective; it’s mainly needed to kill annoying units (like Vampires, for example). Rakshasas, Djinns, and Golems – I consider these to be the worst upgrades at the Academy, and they are also quite expensive!
Furies, Dryads, Skeletons, Angels, Demonesses – these are specific to each Castle.
I also think the topic is not well-structured. Something feels off. Not all the improvements that I would like to see are here! It would be better to organize everything by faction! "Which faction has the most useful unit upgrades!" Now that's a topic I understand!!!
