Eliminating your own is stupid and pointless, even as a distraction. The mafia should spread votes and do anything to save its players. No one in their right mind would try to get their teammate killed. And Hostor is too good and experienced a player to do that.

But why? If the Mafia member harassed and eliminated their own ally, that Mafia member will be considered "good" for the rest of the game, and no one will execute them or have other Mafia members kill them. Only one problem will remain – the Maniac – and that’s it.
