I stopped paying attention to avatars and signatures a long time ago. Half of the avatars are brightly colored animations or "romantic" images, and the other half are just incomprehensible. In the signatures, everyone has either the same old songs, or questionable quotes, or userbars that take up half the page. I haven't seen a profile in a long time that would make me stop and vote for its stylish owner.
