Favorites, to Battle! - 4
Greetings to all Lovers of Heroes of Might and Magic 3!
This year I have been given the opportunity to handle the organizational activities for this tournament. The tournament regulations will be determined after registration closes (most likely groups and play-offs). Changes to the rules compared to previous tournaments in this series will be minor
Please observe good manners when communicating both in the tournament thread and among yourselves. "Veterans" and forum regulars, please be indulgent toward statements from people "out of the loop," newcomers; be an example for them.
In case of irresolvable own disputes, DO NOT QUARREL with each other - contact the judging panel. Please accept the judges' decisions with understanding; their decision is final and non-appealable.
Anyone wishing to participate in the tournament must leave their ICQ number. Applications such as "this evening in WT chat" or "always on the forum" will not be considered.
All reports will go into the seasonal rating.
Game Rules:
:1. Every participating player plays with one and the same race (castle) from the beginning to the end of this tournament.Choose your favorite race; it cannot be changed after being announced in the thread!!! In case of a clash in the bracket between identical races (castles), heroes are chosen by agreement; if both opponents want to play the same hero, then the hero is not chosen but generated randomly (random).
2. Every participating player lists 5 of their favorite templates in descending order, i.e., the 1st template is the most favorite, and the 5th is last in the queue of favorites. If a player has played and loves only 1 template, they should write it as such; do not list non-favorites randomly, BUT be sure to provide this information in your post. In the end, the 5 most favorite templates among participants will be selected, from which exclusions will be made during the selection stage.
3.1 In the Necropolis castle, choosing Galtran as the starting hero is forbidden (only for the SoD version). If Galtran appears as a non-starting hero, he CAN be leveled up, regardless of the castle.
3.2 Playing as Conflux, the starting hero is chosen randomly (only for SoD).
4.Colors in the draw tables are for the first generation. Then colors change after each SUBJECTIVE restart (only 111+111+111 or 111+112 or 113)
5. Any changes to the game rules are allowed by mutual consent of the players, except for changing the Favorite Castle and the Fair Play rule.
6. Game version SoD 3.2 (4.0) + HDmod or by mutual consent WT, TE or TE Lite. Turn time is 6 min; it may be changed by mutual agreement.
In play-off games, matches will be held with a turn time of 8 minutes! It may be changed by mutual agreement.
7. Before the start of each tournament game, to avoid misunderstandings, do not be lazy and check the 1st post of the thread—this one—as there may be changes or amendments.
Templates:
Template selection is carried out by crossing off from a list of 5 templates: here will be the 5 templates selected by you.
So, based on the voting results, games are held on templates 2sm4d3, jebus Cross, Balance, 8mm6a, mini nostalgia.
Blue starts crossing off.
/Example:
Blue :
1. balance
Red :
2. 8mm6
Blue:
3. 2SM4d(3)
Red:
4. Jebus cross
This means we play on the remaining 5th template.
Rules for 2SM4d(3) fully coincide with seasonal rules
Differences for 8mm6a:
- Map settings: XL+U, 2 humans + 6 computers, difficulty 160%.
- Restart due to slow roads. Taken at the request of at least one opponent immediately after map generation.
- It is allowed to move from respawn to respawn without breaking through shifted guards.
- If a computer castle has an upgrade of level 1, 6, 7 in Conflux or level 4 in Necropolis, it is forbidden to upgrade your own troops of these levels or hire the upgraded version of creatures. If the same Necromancer Amplifier is built, upgrading vampires is forbidden, and additional skeletons do not need to be dismissed.
- Dimension Door can be used 2 times a day with expert air magic.
Differences for Jebus cross:
- Standard map settings: size XL-U, two players, no water, monsters - strong, difficulty 160%, turn time limit – 8 minutes.
- Restart at the request of a player whose only road leads to ГО.
- Restart at the request of a player who lacks a road to the central treasure zone.
- Restart due to slow roads. Taken at the request of at least one opponent immediately after map generation.
- Using "Angel Wings" and spells "Fly" and "Dimension Door" when moving from one zone to another is allowed only if the guards between them have been broken.
- In case of bugged passages between zones, passing to an adjacent zone is possible only if ГО to the center has been broken from both zones.
- In the Necropolis castle, Galtran can be chosen as the starting hero.
Differences for Balance:
- Standard map settings: size L-U, humans - 2, computers - 0, no water, monsters - strong, difficulty 130% (rook).
Differences for Mini-Nostalgia:
- Map settings: L+U for 8 players (i.e., with 6 computers). It is also possible to play as two people; in that case, neutral castles will be in place of the computers.
- To avoid double-builds, the choice of castles for computers is made by players alternately, one at a time. The blue player starts the selection. There should be no repetitions or matches with the players' castles. Before starting the game, the host assigns the selected castles to the computers.
- It is allowed to run to adjacent respawns past shifted guards (except for ГО), as computers ignore shifted guards and furthermore, breaking through a passage to a computer is much easier than taking its castle.
Organizational Issues:
1. The tournament is conducted according to the Rules for organization, conduct and participation in tournaments. All changes introduced there during the tournament will be adopted here as well.
2. Organizers:
Tournament Organizer: R55Max - icq 584985121
Judging and resolution of disputes : Dirty_Player - icq 408722873 and Pit for LM - icq 471401475
3. Other:
- Disputed issues between players are resolved by the organizers; disputed issues between players and organizers are resolved by AK.
- Information on the progress of the tournament will be updated approximately once a week, or more frequently depending on availability and game frequency.
- All tournament games go into the seasonal rating. Information will be provided to the seasonal rating organizer on the 1st-2nd of the month following the past one.
- Organizers have the right to make any changes to the regulations and rules during the tournament.
- Organizers have the right to refuse participation to any player without a public explanation of reasons.
- Applications from players recently registered on the forum are considered on an individual basis
4. Regulations:
1. Group stage games are conducted in a round-robin system (all players in one group play each other).
2. Group winners form the "upper" bracket of the next tournament stage in Double Elimination format.
3. Players who took 2nd place in their groups form the "lower" bracket in Double Elimination format.
4. The main criterion for advancing from a group is the number of points earned (1 point for a win, 0.5 for a draw, 0 for a loss). If several players earn an equal number of points, additional indicators come into play (in order of priority):
a) Berger coefficient
b) Head-to-head match
c) Additional game on the balance template (M-U, 200%, 4 minutes per turn)
d) Random selection.
5. Final games between winners of the upper and lower brackets will be played as a best-of-3. The winner of the upper bracket must win 2 games against the winner of the lower bracket, while the winner of the lower bracket must win 3 games against the winner of the upper bracket.
If players meeting in the final have strictly limited time and no possibility to play such a number of final games, they must inform the tournament organizer of this situation.
5. Deadlines.
Tournament start - October 01, 2011. Deadlines for play-off games are written in the 5th post "Play-off Bracket"
Time per 1 game is 2 weeks! End of group stage - November 30!
At the end of the 1st week, any "mismatches" between opponents should be reported to the organizer. Decisions in disputed situations will be made based on negotiations. To resolve disputes, DAILY saves from each player may be requested! Save them until the end of the tournament. The analysis of a dispute will be performed based on these.
Find each other, agree, be communicative! Do not wait for your opponent to be online; write immediately in offline or via PM on the forum.
Registered users are requested to go to the voting page and leave their vote in the POLL. This will allow an estimation of a particular player's availability./topic/8137/
If for any reason you cannot play for some time (more than two weeks) during the tournament, be sure to inform the organizer!
6. Technical results: These are entered individually based on communication with players.
Substitutions will not be made after the group stage ends. If someone wishes to withdraw from the tournament after they have already qualified for the next round by points, that player will also not be replaced. Their spot will go to the lower-ranked person in the group.
ALSO, a no avtosave system is introduced - be reasonable and weigh risk against opportunity. Accept a loss to neutrals as a defeat and do not look for someone to blame. Dear players, please do not ask for or give autosaves! Find the courage to admit a painful defeat.
7. The tournament is official. The winner will be awarded a medal under their avatar:
Players who take 2nd and 3rd place will also be awarded medals.
Certificates displaying the nickname and avatar, or a photo of the player (if they wish to send one), will be mailed to players taking the top 3 places. The photo must be of the player themselves.
Good luck to all on your mounts! Go Go Go
