We played 2 games with Rimpel.

1st) I had Necropolis and Dungeon, my opponent had Stronghold and I forgot what else. There was also haste, and I had a sniper bow, I exchanged the medium artillery for money because I didn't have enough. No magic. But I bought liches. In the battle, the titans just wiped everyone out, and no one even touched the vampires =)

2nd) I had Conflux and Inferno, my opponent had Castle and Swamp. We both took water with +2, and offensive defense. I had devils, ifrits, dogs, cerberuses, birds, psychics, air elementals, and my opponent had: archers, horses, crossbowmen, hydras, cows, wasps, and snakes.

First, we skirmished a bit, then Oleg went forward with everyone. Cows, hydras, I cast "Bless", I use air elementals to remove retaliation from the cows, then the cerberuses arrived and dealt a lot of damage to the cows and hydras. I also hit the wasps and crossbowmen with psychics. And then I attacked with the rest. There, too, it turned out that he had water and "Bless" in response. In the second game, Rimpel made a mistake by positioning the archers where I had a half-stack, and I capitalized on that. There was also a burn-through of the hydras through the cows.

Rom, yeah it looks like a glitch. I don't see any way to spend mana at all—they don't give peaceful spells and there are no battles(simply no one to fight). The only option—I think in SoD there are heroes who have views in the book from the start.

First of all, it's great that Anatoly didn't leave the Heroes community, that's really good. And when he offered to play a game, I simply couldn't refuse =). We played like this, and I spent a long time thinking about what to choose: Air (I could have immediately gone for a rush strategy) or Water (after all, Bless and other spells are very useful). I chose Water, and I think I made the right decision. My army: Archmage, Bears, Champions, Ogres, Cruisers, Thunderbirds, and an incomplete stack of Cyclops. Water, Attack, Defense. His army: Bears, Gold Goblins, Unicorns, Dryads, Ogres, Spotted Hyenas, Thunderbirds, Earth, Offense, Defense. Both players have +2 speed. Since we both haven't played in a while, we made some mistakes in the early rounds. In the first round, I almost wasted my Thunderbirds (only 1 Gold Goblin was killed, and the retaliatory strike with the Archmage didn't work because of Blind). In the second round, Anatoly made a mistake and exposed his Bears to a double retaliatory strike from the Cruisers. After that, I struggled with Dispel and Healing against Mass Shield and Mass Slow, and my resistance didn't work very well... At first, it seemed that the almost +10 advantage in level 7 would give me the victory... But no, the battle was already turning against me, and only the Archmages, who resisted twice, allowed me to achieve a victory, albeit a hard-fought one (7 Ogres against 2, with neither player having mana or other troops left). But still, it was a pleasant victory over a very strong opponent. Thanks for the game.

Just to clarify, it doesn't work in the Tournament Committee, but it sometimes works in the games.
