The game crashes during installation. Auto-translated

I can't figure out what's going on. I'm trying to install the game on my computer, but it gives an error and cancels the installation. Just to clarify: The game is a licensed copy and was installed normally on previous computers. All other programs are closed during installation, and the antivirus is disabled. At 16% of the installation, it displays the following: "Error transferring component Component: PackedData File group: PackedData File: E:\data2.cab Error: Data error (CRC)." I couldn't find a similar topic. Can you help me understand what's happening?

The CD may be damaged. Check for scratches on it.

Thank you for the advice. I checked, and it's fine.

Data corruption only occurs if the file is damaged. If the file is on your computer, it can be corrupted in various ways, but it cannot be corrupted on the disc itself; only the disc can be damaged. Try copying the entire disc to your computer and installing it from there. Also, how long have you had this disc, and where do you usually store it?

As soon as the game was released, I bought it. I keep it in its original box. The box is inside a duck, and the duck is inside a rabbit.
I'll try to copy it onto my computer.

So, it's simple, it's corrupted. And I wouldn't recommend storing it in ducks and rabbits.

Yes, it seems you are right, and there is something wrong with the disc. The data2.rar archive cannot be copied.
I understand that the problem with the disc cannot be fixed?

There are programs for copying such disks. But even so, there will still be an error in the file, and the installation will fail. The only option left is to buy a new one.

And will it be possible to copy it from someone?

It might be possible, but it will likely result in errors. As a result, installation might fail. You could try running it in a virtual machine, but it probably won't help. Alternatively, you can download the game from somewhere or buy a new copy.

Okay. Thanks. I'll wait for the release of the sixth installment.

You'll have to wait a long time =))). Ubisoft currently has many, more priority projects =))).

Or return it to the store if you bought it recently.

Friends, I have a small request for you. When installing Heroes V, an error appears stating that the sound.pak file does not match something in the .cab file... and it has to be skipped during installation, which I don't want to do, because then there won't be any sounds, I assume :smile26:. If that's not the case, please correct me. The game is in Russian. Could someone upload this file separately for download? I think it should work. And also, please tell me exactly how much the original Heroes V (Russian licensed version) weighs, so I can compare it to my file size. Here, I'm attaching an image:
