Dear friends! Perhaps someone remembers that I used to post in the mapmaking topics a few years ago. Or maybe not. Back then, I was developing a multiplayer map for 4 players, filled with "innovative" ideas, various bells and whistles, and other stuff. I put in a lot of work (relatively speaking), wrote a lot of code, drew a lot of wonky landscapes, and really wanted to upload this map here and to the Mod 5.5 Discord. However, during testing with friends (who, by the way, aren't even Heroes fans), I discovered something terrible... the map is unplayable! Unfortunately, my personal experience playing this wonderful game didn't translate well to multiplayer battles, and playing through a heavily scripted map solo almost doesn't make sense – no matter how hard I tried to compensate for the bots' inability to use scripts, it turned out poorly. As a result, the area for 4 players was never finished because I saw no point in continuing at the time. Looking back, I would advise my past self to finish the map and release it "as is," but you can't turn back time . Currently, I don't have the time or desire to finish the map, although on quiet evenings, thoughts sometimes arise about creating a scenario, but I really don't want to touch this creation. The map features the following systems:
  • "Reputation" - Phoenix Tears, with the ability to spend them on certain perks, as well as "mines" for extracting these very tears
  • A card system with sea treasures and a system for finding them. It's quite tedious, but functional.
  • A system where a town remembers its previous owner under certain conditions, including all of its buildings. When captured by another player, they have to rebuild it from scratch, and if you recapture it, you get the town back in the state it was when it was taken from you.
  • A system with "dungeons" where you can obtain the aforementioned tears, fight random groups of creatures, and enjoy cool recolored Dolmens of Knowledge by fktifzobr (Thank you so much, they are truly great!).
  • Functionality for "Blessing" a hero (upon defeat in battle, he can be bought back with a fully "restored" army).
  • Functionality for building additional dwellings on the territory upon fulfilling certain conditions.
  • An artifact exchange system based on 3 for 1.
  • A small reference to an old bearded guy with a well-known nickname among forum users.
And some other minor things that are only interesting in context or only to those who are learning to write scripts. Because the map was abandoned, there are almost no comments in the code, and I am ashamed of this. But I understand that some of these things may be useful to those who delve into other people's maps. My map is not a benchmark (because, essentially, it doesn't exist), and it cannot be considered a quality standard, but it does contain many scripts that I worked on for about 4 months, so there is something to find there. I hope someone will find it helpful to explore my scripts, take the Zobrovian dolmens, and contemplate eternity while looking at my attempts to draw designs.
Thank you very much to everyone who helped me with the map, answered questions; I can't remember everyone now, but I am sincerely glad that such a place as this forum still exists in our difficult and sometimes sad time. I wish everyone not to abandon their own maps, mods, ideas, endeavors, and goals! Attachment 73690

I did a lot of work (relatively speaking), wrote a lot of code, drew a lot of uneven landscapes, and really wanted to upload this map here and to the Discord server for mod 5.5. However, during the testing phase...
I suddenly remembered an anecdote:
Once, Leo Tolstoy was asked if he had read his novel "War and Peace," to which the writer replied: "I'd rather rewrite it than read it."
