– In room 303, there are signs of a brief struggle and some scribbles on the floor with chalk; the whereabouts of the resident are unknown, and in room 305... How can I put it? We found Elliot Kent... Your photos from "Despair!", well, that's about it… Author
And why are they together with Elliot, when did this happen?
Layla also wanted to say that she really liked Ixora’s painting, just in case it wasn’t clear from her reaction and words earlier, but it was difficult to do so without sounding like “consoling” praise. Perhaps she should have described her opinion of each painting in detail from the beginning. Still, there was something majestic about this proud Castle and Tower, proudly rising above the harsh and unforgiving desert. Or the cliff with a statue of some bird in the distance, not the main one, but a memorable design element. – Well, anyway, it’s always nice to chat on such topics. And here I even got an honorary position as a judge, ha-ha! So if any other questions arise, don't hesitate. And I myself will find a couple of my own. For example, it would be interesting to hear about the sources of inspiration for "Stronghold" sometime," Layla replied with a smile. "As for the record, I really liked it. Thank you very much for such a gift! To tell the truth, I would like you to listen to it yourself, but I haven't discussed this with Stella yet. But I would be very happy if you joined us.
- Who took these two photos? I don't remember anyone running around with a camera at the ceremony, - we're trying to figure out the angle and how it was even taken.
- Have you received any feedback from the family? The King, his wife, and his brother. I don't have high hopes for the last two, but they were involved and should know that the facts don't add up. Their support would be helpful here.
- Y-yes... It seems His Majesty is planning to send a squadron of wyvern riders led by Colonel Chaber to stop his grandson. Lady Taxonomia asked for some time to gather her thoughts, and Rhododendron simply shrugged when he was informed.
- First, apprehend all distributors, interrogate them – who, how many, and when did they come, what did they look like, what exactly did they say, how much and with what did they pay, any memorable details. The answer "I don't know anything" won't work here. Then, send them to jail. Seize the materials, and check nearby possible distribution points, and if anything is found, follow the same procedure. Continue to monitor the situation to respond to new cases.
- Second, urgently send this letter to the son of the deceased – in a sealed envelope, a message written by Futaba, expressing condolences and a firm desire to bring the culprit to justice. In addition, provide a brief summary of recent events with Caladium, which, despite initial disagreements, led to a successful and harmless resolution of the conflict and the preceding misunderstanding – due to a lack of information (without details about the king's crimes) – with "his" family. This is followed by an unequivocal denial of any involvement in the murder and a warning against hasty actions, given attempts by third parties to instigate an internecine conflict that could lead to catastrophic consequences for Sakuramor. It is supplemented by the assumption that these individuals may have been involved in both incidents, and an assurance that, despite her status, the queen is ready to appear in court if necessary, provided that it is organized according to the law. It concludes by clarifying that they currently have leads and are conducting an investigation, and if the son desires justice for his father and cares about the fate of Sakuramor, then in this dark hour, they should consolidate their forces rather than follow the lead of unknown puppet masters. - If he doesn't accept it and it all ends with your initial proposal or even with wyverns, then so be it. It means that the system built in Sakuramor, in all its glory, is not capable of solving its internal problems in a civilized manner.
"And therefore does not deserve to exist."
- Third, not a single hair should fall from the heads of Taxonomia and Rhododendron. Objections about baldness will not be accepted. They, or at least their wives, probably have their own security, but we cannot be sure of anything, so it needs to be strengthened. Organize this as witness protection procedures, but with all due respect and so that it doesn't look suspicious. We don't need any additional charges. Or – only if they agree – it is best to invite them and escort them here under guard. The presence of loved ones will help now. Mention this.
- Fourth, we will need Titan's help again. Have him analyze the "chalk scribbles" – magic is likely involved. If these are traces of a pentagram, any information he can extract from it will be useful. That is, what it is, who might have drawn it, and whether it can be tracked in any way. This can be done immediately, so I expect this information as soon as possible. And question the neighbors on the floor, whether they heard or saw anything suspicious.
- And fifth, continue the investigation at the crime scene. You already have photos. It couldn't have happened in broad daylight without anyone noticing or hearing anything. In addition, determine the details of the photo taken at the ceremony. Don't you have a team of professionals? And there were many of your people and others at the scene – someone must have seen and remembered something.
On Nira’s birthday, Leila finally presented the gift she had prepared earlier to her friend. “Happy Birthday, Nira! I hope you like it,” the taimanian smiled, handing over her creation to the birthday girl. At first, Leila also thought about jokingly adding that if Nira wanted, she could brag about the portrait by making it the theme of a new issue on visual arts, but then she decided that reminding her about “work,” even voluntary work, on her birthday would be in poor taste. And it might also sound like a strange attempt at bribery, hinting that it would be nice to cover the activities of a certain club.

“Oh, how wonderful! Now I’ll even be a little jealous of my own portrait – it’s much prettier than in reality, hee-hee! Thank you, Lei!” the girl hugged her friend tightly. In reality, receiving such a gift was much more valuable than it might seem at first glance. Nira couldn't remember the last time she had been given a handmade souvenir specifically for her; not only without any financial component, but even without any monetary motivation. She even regretted that she herself did not possess such talents and noble spirit, and therefore her own imagination never went beyond the goods on store shelves.
Looking around her modernized room, Nira, with a slight uncertainty, placed the painting on the fifth wall. “Hmm, on the one hand, it’s a little strange to admire my improved version… But on the other hand, I absolutely cannot allow such a pleasant and beautiful gift to gather dust under the bed.
/I'd like to discuss other book-related topics with Dr. Nira before that, of course... If I give you a pass to read the fifth book, would that be okay, Heroist?/
The events that followed took a very long time and required a great deal of emotional and physical resources from everyone involved, in order to achieve some kind of conclusion.
During the investigation, the interrogated individuals did not provide any useful or even interesting information – all the "distributors" were poor people who agreed to do the job in exchange for a substantial reward promised by a stranger – first an advance, and then the rest. Unfortunately for them, they never received the "rest."
Nicorix Starlight reluctantly agreed to Futaba's proposals, and shortly thereafter, one of his direct subordinates, Lieutenant Soris Paiza, went missing. A joint investigation with the "Vasilyki" revealed that the lieutenant, as an adjutant to Caladium Starlight, was supplying his commander with false or exaggerated/distorted information, particularly regarding Futaba Starlight. It was because of this information that the king's new wife was perceived in a negative light by Caladium and Nicorix.
Levizia Starlight, due to her emotional state and health problems, had to take a leave of absence.
Altino Tit identified the "scribbles" in Bonita's room as a teleportation magic circle, which, unfortunately, was one-way, and it was impossible to determine the destination.
Caladium's murder occurred early in the morning; he was beheaded at approximately the same time, but the purpose remains unclear. No one has yet been able to identify the photographer of the second photograph in more detail.
As a result of all this, the preparations for the Autumn Festival were put on hold, and November is approaching.
