Along with a strong gust of wind, a piece of paper flies out of room 402 of the men's dormitory and lands in the hands of Layla, who is walking through the dormitory grounds. Strange numbers are written on it in ink.
—Really? Well, that's good news, thank you! And good luck to you too with that curse. I hope I can count on your advice regarding training or proper nutrition if needed, hee-hee. And in general, when you have time, come visit us in room 405, and we'll chat. 😘
— Oh? — Intrigued by what she heard, another student steps onto the threshold of room 201. — Hmm, curses, gossip... Can we join you, girls?
It was hard to say whether this strange and unlikely event was a sign of fate, the machinations of some deity, or simply a coincidence, but since the leaflet had landed right in her hands and Layla had already seen its contents, she decided to take a closer look. However, she didn't need to speculate much about what the mysterious numbers meant – the conclusion was obvious, considering the building from which the leaflet with the "grades" had flown. The unfortunate author was just lucky that he didn't end up in the hands of someone more talkative and easily offended. Of course, if Layla's assumptions were correct. If it was all just a very strange misunderstanding, then the evaluator was also lucky that the leaflet didn't end up with someone prone to hasty conclusions. Therefore, holding her find firmly, the Ta'mani confidently headed towards room 402, fully expecting that at any moment, the resident, concerned about the unexpected turn of events, might burst out of it.
Since the school year hadn't started yet and the student move-in was still in progress, there were no restrictions on movement between the two buildings, so Layla reached her destination without any problems. In room 402, she was met by the gaze of a young man, whose emotions were difficult to discern because a mask concealed his face. He said nothing and simply looked at the unexpected visitor.
Due to the mask concealing the young man’s face, Leila couldn’t determine whether he was staring at her or if his face was flushed. In fact, she couldn’t even rate him on a scale of 1 to 10. Therefore, just in case the young man was embarrassed by what had happened or was planning to deny it, the Ta’mani decided to play along a bit and make it easier for him to make a decision in what could potentially be a difficult situation for him. Although she was also a little curious about how the young man would react if she introduced herself as a “five out of ten.”
— Good day, — Leila demonstratively raised her index and ring fingers, which were holding a folded piece of paper between them, — it seems to have come from your room. I don’t know what it is, a letter to his parents or poems dedicated to his beloved, but I decided that it should be returned to its rightful owner before someone more curious picks it up. I hope I’m not mistaken?
— Oya? — The young man who just came out of room 401 meets Leyla's gaze. — What is this girl doing here? This is the men's dormitory...
— She's not very good with directions, — the Taimanian girl said with an awkward smile, — so she got a little lost, haha. I apologize for this intrusion; I'm just heading out.
