Taking a deep breath, Gideon gathered his strength and stepped forward to address the audience. He felt strangely out of place, as if he were about to jump into the abyss. “Good day to all,” he began in a confident voice, greeting the assembled crowd with an energetic nod, his fingers gripping the lectern. “So. As a candidate, I propose the following ideas for discussion: providing students with a monthly schedule of classes, organizing clubs based on interests within NAILS, and allowing students to give lectures on topics they are knowledgeable about.” After a brief pause, he continued his speech, his tone serious and thoughtful, his gaze sweeping across the audience without focusing on anyone in particular. “As we all know, the current class schedule available to students only covers a week and provides little insight into the future. It’s like looking at a page of a book with only a few words written on it. But there may be challenges throughout the month, and it is very difficult to prepare well for them if you only find out about them a few days in advance. Of course, you can try to catch every word from the teachers’ sometimes unclear explanations or constantly bombard them with questions, but it would be much easier if this information were presented in advance in a clear and accessible format. Then it would be easier to plan your preparation accordingly. Proper planning and effective preparation are the keys to success. These things are complicated by a lack of time and information. But this can be easily solved by providing students with a monthly schedule – in this case, everyone will have the opportunity to think about upcoming events in advance.” “Next. NAILS brings together many students, all of whom are different and divided into classes. But common interests and passions can unite even rivals and those who would not normally interact with each other. Therefore, it makes sense to organize clubs within the academy, where anyone who is interested in a particular topic can join. We could meet from time to time to discuss things that interest us, hold relevant events, train together, and develop skills. Essentially, it’s like ordinary groups of friends, but brought together not just by a fleeting goal, such as having a cup of tea or going to the store, but by a common interest and regular meetings of the participants.” “And third, student lectures. I think there are those among us who would be interested in sharing their knowledge with their peers. This is a good way to express individuality, share knowledge and experience, and tell interesting stories that will reach everyone who wants to hear them. Overall, this would diversify the lectures at the academy and allow students to broaden their horizons.” Taking a breath and releasing the lectern, he glanced away for a moment and spoke more earnestly. “Finally, I will say why these ideas are especially important. Overly revolutionary and radical ideas lead to tension, discord, and turmoil. You can’t just break the laws by which we live, and hoping for well-being in the process is out of the question. There is another way – to create new conditions where it will be possible to both express individuality and achieve unity. The main thing is that there is a common interest. Don’t be bored, but don’t lose your head. Strive for knowledge and be diligent. This is how we will bring ourselves to a future where there is no place for gloom and indifference, and where everyone will have the opportunity to become better and stronger without causing unnecessary pain and suffering to themselves and others. And then, when the time comes, we will not appear as a crowd of snarling pawns under an iron hand, but as steadfast and confident queens, cooperating to accomplish the impossible and capable of changing the world.” “Ahem… Well, that’s all. In general, these are my thoughts. Thank you for your attention.

Leila had underestimated Futaba – she spoke eloquently, clearly, and persuasively. A good contrast to Barbora, who seemed not to know exactly what she wanted, but participated simply because she felt it was necessary. Nevertheless, even the idea of optional duels seemed dubious to Leila. In this format, it could be implemented as a dueling club. Besides, even despite Leila's own love for such competitions, in real conditions, few opponents would honestly fight you one-on-one. Team training, in her opinion, made much more sense. And not in the form of competitions between classes, but with a random distribution of all students into teams – in combat conditions, you don't choose your allies, but work with those who are nearby. However, the idea of a disciplinary committee, in the form proposed by Futaba, sounded quite appealing. Such an organization would indeed have a certain meaning. Although, again, Gideon or Nirianna could have implemented it later. In fact, that option was even more desirable – then Futaba, who was free from obligations as president of the student council, could be made the head of this very committee. It was clear that the girl had ideas on this subject.

Futaba's speech ended with one of the students, Elliot, raising a clenched fist at the same time as the candidate, which caused some confusion among those present, some of whom reflexively followed his example. Only Vailis remained.

Leila was caught off guard by Elliot's strange, very atypical reaction to Futaba's speech. Where did this enthusiasm come from in someone who was not inclined to openly express his emotions? Unless... yes, everything fell into place. She and Futaba were both reserved, silent people. They had both suffered a lot from Carvia's actions a few months ago. They could open up to each other, as to someone who had experienced the same thing. They could become closer. And then, while no one was paying attention to them, such a friendship grew into a romantic relationship, as sometimes happens. It's funny that, of all the girls in the academy, the quiet and withdrawn Futaba turned out to be the most active in the field of love. Even if her taste in men left something to be desired.

— I believe that the president and the face of the Academy should be a woman, — at first, it wasn't clear where the voice came from because, at first glance, everyone was silent, but then it became clear that it was Elliot speaking, whose mouth was hidden behind his usual mask.
— I agree,” Ladia supported him, “in my homeland, a man wouldn't even think of nominating himself for such a position...
— In the end,” Elliot continued, “the president is a prominent figure... A face (and not just a face) that you will have to look at very often, and therefore a man is not suitable for this. How do you intend to solve this problem, Gideon?

I don't think it's worth taking Vailisa to the competitions. Revan said that the bonuses from equipment and weapon skills are taken into account here, so I suggest these options:
Futaba — Fortis — Gideon
Nira — Leila — Barbarian

If desired, you can experiment a bit with the positions of Fortis, Barbarian, and Leila. For example, swap Fortis and Barbarian or Leila to create more balanced groups.

Vaylis walked up to the podium, but due to its height, it wasn't entirely comfortable to stand behind it, so the guy decided to stand in front of it. "Conflicts... Conflicts never change. They have always existed and will likely continue to exist, because there are many different reasons for their emergence, which hardly change over time, occasionally only undergo modifications or are expressed in other words in an attempt to conceal their true meaning. We have observed similar situations here, although only a few months have passed. Is this normal? In the structure of the universe - yes, because even animals fight each other, and I'm not talking about one species eating another, but specifically about rivalry within individual groups that live together, hunt together, share their lives with each other, but are still ready to kill their fellow being if something goes wrong. Yes, for the most part, this is due to biology or different instincts, but we are not animals. No offense, Alidum. We are all capable of something more than just hitting each other with sticks. We are capable of talking to each other and negotiating, understanding and accepting, going halfway and striving together for something good. And I think many would like it to always be that way, because life in peace is simply better. And it's good when you don't have to do what you don't really want to do, or at least not do it more than necessary. And this applies to any person and any activity, because everyone has their own preferences. My opponents in the elections mostly offer solutions based on the desires of only a few people, or even just their own. Is this right? I don't think so. In my opinion, decisions should be made that not only satisfy the majority of people but also cause the least amount of negativity, or at least do not specifically affect those people who do not like them. For this reason, I chose the three points that are stated in the program. Yes, some may think that not everyone will want to change their class every month. You are right. For this reason, I would like to make this point optional, so that everyone can decide for themselves whether they want it or not. As for the proposal itself, I believe it will be useful for all of us, as it will allow us to get to know not only our class or our neighbors but also the other guys better. Surely, everyone has formed an opinion about everyone else, and some of them are positive, while some are clearly negative. Can they be wrong? Of course, because people sometimes draw conclusions based on just one phrase or because of a minor action, which may also be misinterpreted, and an outside person will not clarify this. Is this right? In rare cases, the first impression may indeed be correct, but there are also many situations when people simply do not know each other well, and this leads to misunderstandings. Changing classes could help us resolve, if not all, then at least some of these misunderstandings, controversial situations, and conflicts, if they exist. After all, we still have a lot to learn, and why not spend this time not only productively but also in a peaceful environment, with a pleasant company? Perhaps someone will become so close that they will even want to become neighbors. For such situations, I would like to abolish the separation by gender in the dormitories. Imagine that two kindred spirits meet, and it turns out that they are of different sexes. Should we forbid them from living together if they want to? Can there be friendship between a guy and a girl? People live with dogs and call them their friends, so what are we worse than? Of course, there can be, because we are all mostly the same, albeit with some differences. But co-existence is needed in order to understand and accept each other better," the guy paused and sat down in front of the podium, dangling one leg off the stage. "A lot of bad things have happened, but why not try to leave it all in the past and move on to something good and bright? In my opinion, this is an excellent and quite normal desire, because everyone wants only the best for themselves, while, of course, not forgetting about others. But it is even better if this good and bright is stable, and for this, we need to roughly know what awaits us ahead," Vaylis stood up again. "Yes, yes, I'm talking about the schedule. I think everyone agrees that it's nice to know in advance about the activities that await us. At least to mentally prepare for ball games. Ha! I'm kidding, I love these games," the young man smiled. "But what if we're talking about tests, training fights, or something like that? Knowing about them, we could prepare for them, without wasting time on idleness or, conversely, engage in something new, being confident in our abilities. And in general, it is more convenient to make plans when you know all the variables that await you in the next four weeks. And finally, I would like to say that whoever is chosen for this position, I hope this student will listen to the opinions of others and, if necessary, make new decisions or cancel old ones if they suddenly do not meet expectations or simply do more harm than good. If I happen to become that person, then that will definitely be the case. Moreover, I believe that in the future, it is worth expanding this circle a little and creating a mini-council of students, given that each of us is good at something, and if one cannot solve all the issues, then comrades can always help him and advise on the best options for solving the accumulated problems. Communication and mutual understanding will lead us to a better life!

What competition are you talking about? It's not in the schedule. Can those who don't participate make up for it by completing an optional scenario?

This is the second week.

— I have a question,” Oleg raises his hand and stands up, — are you ready to take responsibility if something irreparable happens between two people sitting next to each other, a boy and a girl?

“The guy, Oleg, will have to take responsibility,” Waylis grinned in response.

— I have a question,” Oleg raises his hand and stands up, — are you willing to take responsibility if something irreversible happens between two people sitting next to each other, a boy and a girl?

— We are mostly not children anymore, and if some people cannot be responsible for their own actions, then they should refrain from such decisions, and from any other decisions that carry certain risks in one way or another,” Vale replied. — And if there are such people, I am surprised that they even ended up here, traveling so far from home, instead of staying with their parents, who could take responsibility for them in case of anything.

“That’s not an answer!” Usually quiet, Oleg threatened Waylis with a wave of his hand. “The idea you proposed has far more serious consequences than the method of distributing scholarships or holding mandatory duels, and I cannot ignore such a careless attitude towards it. Therefore, I want to ask our lovely ladies to demonstrate who is NOT against sharing a dormitory and a room with the guys.”
Only Shera and Vita raised their hands.
“I think you’ll have to look for your soulmate using more pious methods, Waylis.” He sits down.

Futaba – Fortis – Gideon
Nira – Leila – Barbarian

Someone reminded me about the penalties for Barbarian, so here's an updated version:
Futaba – Leila – Gideon
Nira – Vailis – Fortis

The first group is stronger than the second, but I think it's better this way than trying to balance them. It still won't work out properly. Fortis and Leila can still be swapped.

"I actually thought that Vailis was just joking, and would now simply come out and withdraw his candidacy... Well. I learned something new about many people today, things I probably shouldn't have known..."
"And Gideon's speech, by the way, was quite good. Maybe we really don't need to... go to extremes."

— Isn’t this a real problem, Elliot? When choosing a candidate, the initiatives he proposes are primarily important. So, the question of gender is not one that makes much sense to discuss. Are there any specific ideas that have been put forward?

“This is a problem for me,” Elliot persisted, “I believe that the most beautiful girl in the Academy should become president, and let her be the one to consider the suitability of various ideas. For this reason, my vote will definitely go to Futaba, and I urge everyone else to do the same.”
