I used to use a laptop, and the game worked perfectly fine (I was using a pirated version back then), but then I had to buy a computer, and when I decided to play, I encountered problems.

As always, I first check how the pirated version works, and no matter which one I download, they all work poorly:
1) The lumber mill doesn't produce wood, but the mine does.
2) When installing mods, some changes don't work correctly (for example, on the map, a swordsman remains a swordsman, even though he should be a different creature).

Everything worked perfectly on the laptop; I even transferred the files from the laptop's hard drive to the computer, but that didn't help either.

I wanted to buy a license, but I'm afraid that these bugs will remain, and I won't be able to enjoy the game.

The only problem is that it doesn't work on my new computer, and it's unclear why.

I noticed that there's some kind of "Ghost" in the game - an Archer Commander. That shouldn't be there; I don't think it ever existed.

It's hard to recommend any purchases, given the current situation with payments, but if you're going to "obtain materials from another source," look for those labeled as "GOG Version." It's the most stable of the licensed versions.
