...For centuries, the noble minerals found deep within the earth have been used primarily for two distinct purposes by two very different groups of people. The first valued their exquisite beauty, durability, and rarity compared to other materials, using them for jewelry, as a more reliable store of value than currency, and simply for collecting. The second, the mages, found a more practical use for them – these precious stones held many secrets and were a source of magical energy, which magically gifted individuals, both human and non-human, could use in addition to their own reserves, allowing them to exceed the limitations of their own bodies and cast more powerful spells. This characteristic raised questions about the origin of these minerals, specifically whether they were created by the otherworldly goddess Rishi. Because of this, at one point in history, the Church of Orion even attempted to ban the mining, sale, and possession of these stones, but this endeavor was unsuccessful, not so much because of the mages themselves, but because of the excessive love that the wealthy of this world had for these beautiful, rare, and expensive luxury items.
In 3964, a professor from Aoki, Trillium A. Seiso, developed a new way to use these precious stones and gave them an official name within the scientific community – pururut. As a result of his research, methods were found to extract the magical properties of these minerals in a concentrated form without the need to study magical sciences. This discovery spurred the creation of technologically advanced items. One of the most striking examples is the camera, which records the image of reality captured by the device's lens onto a specially prepared pururut, which can then be transferred to paper.
In Refitea, for example, they were the first to learn how to grind pururut into a powder, thus inventing a magical powder that is used to fill the ammunition of all firearms, which significantly changed the way battles are fought in our time.
Furfur, in turn, is a byproduct of pururut processing and consists of materials that can change and maintain a given shape as a result of using different temperatures. Professor A. Seiso discovered that furfur becomes softer and more flexible under the influence of heat, and it began to be used to make clothing, curtains, and other items, while under the influence of cold temperatures, furfur hardens, which contributed to the creation of firearms, works of art (figurines, statues), technological devices (the same camera), armor, and other items.
It is no secret that pururut and furfur are the keys to a high-tech future.

While Mira cautiously retreated from the suitor who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, and Coriel II chatted with the daughter of the conference organizer, Airlis decided to visit the mercenary guild to inquire about Canaria’s rates. Based on what Mira had recently said about the task of “eliminating a dangerous monster,” the help of a priestess of Luxuria could be very useful. But, of course, everything depended on the prices and whether what the owner of “Magograd” told Mira was just rumors, exaggerating the exploits of the followers of the goddess of passion.
While Myra was hesitantly backing away from the suitor who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, and Coriel II was discussing something with the conference organizer's daughter, Ayrlis decided to visit the mercenary guild to inquire about the price of Canaria's services. Based on what Myra had recently said about the task of "eliminating a dangerous monster," the help of a priestess of Luxuria could be very useful. But everything, of course, depended on the price and whether what the owner of "Magograd" told Myra was just rumors, exaggerating the exploits of the followers of the goddess of passion.
— Oh, I've certainly encountered some logs, but I haven't had to sleep with trees yet. I don't even know... — Canaria hesitated for a moment. — I'd hate for something to go wrong... Well, I can try, but in that case, someone needs to be able to take care of me when I'm helpless, in case something goes wrong. I agree to try for half the contract price. I think, given the specifics of this job, that would be quite fair.
– If such a proposal makes you uncomfortable, you are not sure of your own abilities, or you are afraid of any unpredictable consequences, then I will not insist in any way, – Airlys said with a smile in response to the joke about “logs”. – I have no desire to put your life in danger or to persuade you to do something that might leave unpleasant memories behind. So, there is no need to force yourself.
— Well, no, in a way, it might even be interesting to try, but mercenary work in general involves a lot of risks. It's not much different from fighting monkeys in the forest or some bandits.
So, what do you think? Should we try it or not? Basically, if there isn't a battle with a debuffed tree, it only makes sense to take a couple of Coreleis, Myra, and Airlis.
