— Lady Eet, I've heard that in addition to managing the supply depot, you also conduct research related to these lands. If it's not too much trouble and you have a moment, could I, out of mere curiosity, inquire about it in more detail?
— My area of responsibility includes studying the flora and fauna of Sselay, as well as geological research, based on which I try to determine the distinctive features of this region, diseases that affect humans, the presence of useful minerals, the potential benefits of unique ingredients, animal behavior, and possible ways to exploit them. It should be noted separately that non-humans also fall into the latter category, and therefore, at this stage, a wide range of opportunities are opening up.

- You've spoiled her... But at least it's quieter now," Raphael returned to his guest seat. - "...in general, that's how things are with me. For now, we're working this way. But enough about me - how are you? You look like something's bothering you.
— It was bothering me, but only until recently. — Inar nodded towards the rope that was now untied. — You caught me at not the most opportune moment... But I've had plenty to do lately. — He also took his seat, and his voice became a little more serious. — I heard that Sharan Aganso has disappeared, and with his absence, the victory of the coalition forces will not take long, but the slaughter continues. Part of the Lisliar elite is trying with all their might to repel the invaders, understanding that with defeat in the war, their former life will go downhill, while others are attacking each other in the fight against the "blood tax," and no one really understands who is on whose side. With such prospects, it may not be limited to ten percent.

-- Ma'am, you are more than worthy of performing any combat tasks for you, otherwise you wouldn't be our commander. Give me such a task, and I will complete it. But in this case, it's not a combat task, as far as I can tell. Besides, I'm more than sure that a thoroughbred steed will handle it better, and you will look amazing riding on it.
— So, you're saying that if I sent you to help on a farm, you would refuse because it's not a combat task? Aren't you being a little too picky for a soldier and a mercenary?

— I think I can't deny that you're right," Shen nodded. — I did have reasons, several, in fact, to leave my homeland. But, perhaps, there's no point in burdening you with them. Unless, I'll note the main thing: I was starting to get morally tired of feeling uncomfortable among my fellow tribesmen, who also disagreed with me in some ways, and I wanted to expand my knowledge of my own world. Moreover, I was interested in learning more about the El Isin clan, of which I am a part thanks to my traveling great-grandfather. As proof of his belonging to the ancient dynasty, Shen showed Julius a bracelet of his ancestor.
— Family and its roots are important in almost any culture, and therefore your endeavor is noble, but if you want to share your story about life in your homeland in more detail, I will gladly listen to you. We don't seem to be in a hurry, and as a spirit, I don't have any particular tasks.
— So, you're saying that if I sent you to help out on a farm, you'd refuse because it's not a combat mission? Aren't you being a bit too picky for a soldier and a mercenary?
The question stumped Mirastira. A person with a good imagination might now think that the gears in the big man's head started making a characteristic creaking sound as he looked away, trying to figure out where his line of oratorical defense had failed. -- No, ma'am, of course, I wouldn't refuse. In fact, that's what I came for. Well, it's about supplies, right, ma'am?
- I don't even know what I was hoping to find here, - the knight thought. - Oh well, right now I wouldn't mind a glass of that wine offered by that eccentric fellow from the village. At least it was made with good ingredients and under normal conditions, as it was made for himself, but just the name "whiskey" here makes me feel disgusted. You probably won't get any better after drinking this swill, not to mention the hangover. If we get stuck here for long, then maybe I can try something from the list, but for now, I need to think about business and look for a way to leave this place as soon as possible, or find some activity to pass the time.
>Insula We are going there.
In the hall on the first floor of this building, Scipio noticed a traveler resting on one of the sofas. Seeing the knight, he smiled at him friendly. - Hey, you're from the newly arrived imperial detachment, aren't you?
The question stumped Mirastir. A person with a good imagination might now imagine that the gears in the big man's head began to make a characteristic creaking sound as he looked away, trying to figure out where his line of oratorical defense had failed. -- No, ma'am, of course, I wouldn't refuse. — Correct. And what could be worse than a shortage of provisions? A commander, tired of empty arguments, whose subordinates' fate depends on his decisions. Or am I wrong, hmm?

Idia's answer amused Linderia in the sense that she listed almost all possible studies that could be conducted in Ss'elay, from geology to the culture of local tribes. Even though the local tribes were treated in the studies on the same level as animals, and their culture was attributed to "habits." Of course, the sorceress did not outwardly show her emotions.
— A thorough approach to the matter. Thank you for your answer," Linderia said politely, nodding slightly, and after a moment of thought, continued. "While the 'Golden Griffin' was sent here as support for the military forces of Airisufir, and this research is not related to its activities, I believe it would still be useful to inform you if, during our work, we come across any unusual animals or discover items made from unusual and rare materials among the serpent people? Or is it enough to include this information in the report to our direct superiors, and you will send for us if more detailed questioning is required?

The spirit was summoned for Arandor's companion, but I'm the one hanging out with him. Julius's company was very pleasant for Shane, especially since the spirit showed understanding towards him. For the first time in a long time, the young man had the opportunity to meet a Nakiri, even if it was the essence of a person who once lived. Not to mention that he wasn't an intrusive fanatic, but primarily a personality. So, the young man allowed himself to reminisce a little and tell the story of how Jun el Isin appeared in his tribe, how he fell in love with Ikara, and how, for her sake, he became part of the Nakiri tribe. Feeling a certain understanding from his interlocutor, he also told about the reasons why he stopped honoring some of the tribe's traditions and preferred to spend time and energy primarily on improving his body and spirit, which is why he was not in favor with his fellow tribesmen. All this, of course, was not in the form of a complaint; Shane's voice and emotions were very calm. And when he spoke about his father or grandmother, the corners of his lips revealed a slight smile, and his eyes showed a longing for home, which the warrior left not as an exile, but as a traveler, always having the right to return.
— That’s right. And what could be worse than a lack of provisions? A commander, tired of pointless arguments, whose subordinates’ fate depends on his decisions. Or am I wrong, hmm?
— Um... I... Uh. Uh! — Mirastir waved his hand. He felt tired too, incredibly tired. An inner voice told him that he was arguing with a sophist, but he could no longer confirm this logically. If only his teacher were here... Well, his teacher would immediately agree to something like this, because fulfilling such strange orders is perfectly in line with his philosophy. Never mind... — Well, out of respect for you, let’s have a... Khm, a training session. But it will be intense, I’m telling you.
Decided to sail to Moenia after meeting Brahe at the entrance to the city.
