Dear forum members, does anyone know how to specify the required number of creatures in the stacks when creating duel heroes in the map editor?
There seems to be some strange limitation there, especially funny that you can only add a maximum of 12 Imps for the Warlock, but you can specify 6 Black Dragons in a stack. :smile50:
When creating a duel preset, you have a certain limitation (on everything, not just creatures). That is, to create balance, you have to sacrifice something (artifacts, spells, upgrades, or your army). It seems you spent most of the limitation on that.
Development points do not affect this limitation. That is, even if you try to create more than 12 Furies immediately upon creation, it will not work due to the editor's limitation.
I want to bypass these limitations. Standard duel heroes can serve as an example, as these limitations are not enforced (are violated) in them.
I understand that the limitation is approximately 1 month of creature growth when building buildings from level 1-2 of the city. For example, this is exactly what happened with mages. But with the Shadow League, for creatures of level 1-3, something is wrong. I tried to open duel presets that I created myself (with a smaller number of creatures than necessary) using Notepad and WinRAR to edit them, but these programs do not recognize them.
So, the question is: how does anyone bypass this problem? (if there are any such people).
Added after 8 hours 14 minutes Maybe someone knows where the created Duel presets are saved? That way, they could be edited with a text editor.:smile54:
I wouldn't close this thread. I have the same problem, and downloading this preset didn't help. I opened it with Notepad, and it's all written in some unknown language. Even in version 3.1 of the game, these same limits apply. It's very frustrating because now I can't win playing as the Stronghold faction in most cases with such a poor limit.
Opened it with Notepad, and everything there is written in God knows what language. Even in version 3.1 of the game these same limits are already in effect.
Came by to check how things are on the forum, don't know if you still need this, but I'll try to explain now. Sorry for bumping the topic. The same works on 3.1 too. Look at the first attachment. When you open a map in the editor, you can view other files, including presets. From there you can copy-paste them to another location. For starters, you can make a regular preset (leave some points) and then copy it from DuelPresets somewhere into your docs. Then open it with WinRAR as an archive.
Second attachment. A preset, like a map, is essentially a mod. And its structure is the same. Open folders until you see preset.xdb.
Regarding the army, take the Irina preset as an example — look for the armySlots tag - <Shared href="/MapObjects/Haven/Ving.(AdvMapHeroShared).xdb#xpointer(/AdvMapHeroShared)"/> <PlayerID>PLAYER_NONE</PlayerID> <Experience>35000</Experience> <armySlots> <Item> <Creature>CREATURE_LANDLORD</Creature> <Count>1000</Count> </Item> </armySlots> ... CREATURE_LANDLORD - landlords (unexpected, isn't it?), Count - the quantity. You can just check who has how many in the editor if you don't understand what creature it is. Overall, the structure of this file resembles the structure of a hero on the map, so ideally you could create a hero on the map and look in his tree to see what the final preset should look like.
IMPORTANT! The preset's price field gets recalculated when the game launches, so the initial version needs to have a buffer. Attachment 3 — you can put even 1000 bums, but you'll have to pay for them. Also, if you decide to change something in the editor, the number itself won't reset; you'll need to erase it first (meaning the preset itself can be edited).
And that's it — go into duel mode, enable your presets, pick the range you managed to fit into, and play.
