I finished a new drawing and this time I am very pleased with it, although there were moments of frustration and an inability to move forward at certain stages.
Character: Yukari Yakumo
There are many characters in Touhou that I could try to draw, but I really like her on a personal level.
Concept: Initially, I wanted to draw a model of Yukari and then experiment with different outfits on her. The plans included her two standard outfits from Touhou, the North Carolina outfit from Azur Lane, Olivia or Alex from GBF (depending on which one would look better in terms of color palette), and some others. But it turned out that at a certain point, I was spending more time searching for and switching between unnamed layers than actually drawing, so I cut down on the drawing and decided to finish it in its current form.
Process: since I initially wanted to draw a full-body character and experiment with different outfits on her, I started studying human anatomy in manga. At the initial stages, the drawing looked like this:

I struggled with all of this for a long time, and I'm still not sure how effective it was. For example, quite early on, I noticed that I had made a mistake in my calculations, resulting in a torso that was too long. How this affected subsequent details, I cannot say, but here is a funny moment: to correct this, I had to "raise the hips," as a result of which they seemed wider than before. But along with this, the figure also began to look nicer, which is definitely a plus.
The model itself, when I finished it, looked like this:

Here, I didn't finish working on the fingers, so they look like those of a puppet, which is amusing.
The most difficult element during the entire work on the drawing were the legs, by the way. I just couldn't draw them, but I think this is directly related to the fact that I can't draw long lines and have to use short strokes instead.
The second most difficult element this time turned out to be the hat. But I am glad that I still added it.
I still haven't figured out shadows/lighting; I just smear where I like. This is not the best approach, and I need to solve this problem, but even so, the effect is positive.
