Top 5 games. Auto-translated

I didn't play the original version either. I went straight to the "enhanced" version.

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (This is it, my game, as Grits says, the best of the best) 2. Diablo II (Oh, it's a pity that all my Heroes were erased in the digital space :() 3. Space Rangers (Let's support a domestic manufacturer :)) 4. Rome: Total War (A real mash on the battlefield) 5. Counter-Strike 1.6 (It's eternal) 6. Civilization III (Evolution, sociology, everything I love) 7. Star Wars: Republic Commando 8. HoMM III (Well, how can we do without them? :)) 9. Star Wars: Jedi Knight (One of my first games of this kind :)) 10. Aliens versus Predator

I suggest we hold a parade featuring the 5 best games of the year.

Years? Hmm... if we're talking about the games I've played, then here's the list:
1) Heroes 3, 4, 5
2) Diablo II
3) Half-Life
4) Red Alert
5) Gothic

Out of the newer games, only Red Alert 3 appealed to me; I either haven't played the others, or they run poorly, or I just don't like them.

Among the games released last year, I would especially like to mention King's Bounty: The Legend (shortened to KB: The Legend) and GTA4. Also, when I have a lot of free time, I will buy DMC4 and Fallout 3, and maybe even get around to RA3... oh well, dreams are dreams :D

I suggest we hold a parade of the 5 best games of the year.

I wonder, will at least 5 games released in 2008 even run on my old computer? :D

Yeah, any browser-based strategy game.

It would be better if they made new games with old graphics :D Like GTA 4, with the same graphics as the third or Vice City :D Stalker with the graphics of Counter-Strike 1.6, and so on.

The discussion seems to have gone off-topic, but that's okay. GTA4 is great mainly because of its graphics, in my opinion. The atmosphere of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is also created with the help of modern graphics, while the graphics in Crysis are generally poor.
CoD4 is the peak of evolution for rail shooters. Although, both CoD4 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. were released in 2007, and we're supposedly talking about 2008 here.

And what about Stalker Clear Sky?

GTA4 is great only because of its graphics, IMHO.

And I read about it. It seems like everything is cool and awesome:p

I don't know if it was mentioned here before, but I'll mention it again: 1. Planescape: Torment 2. Witcher 3. KotOR 2: The Sith Lords 4. Fallout 1, 2 (a premonition of brewing... um... popular sentiment) 5. Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines

1. Heroes III 2. Disciples II 3. Silent Hill II 4. Silent Hill III 5. Guilty Gear XX But lately, I've only been playing Guilty Gear, and occasionally I'll play Heroes.

Just for me:
1. Gothic II Addon
2. Gothic
3. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
4. Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East
5. Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death

1. Heroes of Might and Magic V 2. Disciples II 3. Heroes of Might and Magic IV 4. Diablo II 5. Disciples III (?) - I haven't installed it yet, although I received the disc. I'm afraid I might be disappointed.

If we're talking only about computer games: 1) Portal 2) Dungeon Keeper 2 3) Civilization: Call to Power 2 4) Space Rangers 2: Dominators. Reloaded. 5) Earth 2150: The Moon Project We have: a very original action game, a non-standard RTS, a spin-off of "Civilization," a game that doesn't fit into one or two genres, and another RTS with a rich construction system. Yes, many popular games pass me by. From this list, we can conclude that I don't like "genre classics" and excessive casualness. And also, I couldn't choose a good RPG for the list, as no Diablo, TES, or even Mass Effect games managed to have a significant impact. Just my humble opinion.
