Near the database, add "+" and "-" checkboxes for rating messages. It would be good if messages that receive a lot of negative ratings were dimmed, or even better, collapsed, so it would be easier to find something relevant.

Mass likes are for show business. Collapsing the thread will likely bury useful information rather than help find it.

The database system already serves to evaluate messages. There is no point in hiding messages that have received many downvotes: in most cases, such messages violate the forum rules and should simply be deleted by moderators. However, going to the other extreme and adding some kind of badge or medal to a message that has received many upvotes... In principle, why not. But it's not that important. I suspect that implementing something like this will take a lot of time, which would be better spent on some kind of chat or similar features.

None of my posts have ever received more than one downvote; the forum users are generally kind and rarely downvote. Or, perhaps they're afraid of getting downvoted in return.
