Favorites, to Battle! - 6
The time has come for another confrontation. We must fight for our favorite castle, prove its strength, and please the spectators with interesting games and unconventional combinations. In this tournament, each player immediately chooses a race that they will play throughout the entire tournament. The first such tournament took place in 2008. No single castle or player has won these tournaments twice. Necropolis, Conflux, Swamp, Castle, and Rampart have already been the best. How will it be now?
I. General Questions. 1. Throughout the tournament, each participant plays as their chosen favorite race. If two identical races meet in a game, heroes are selected either by mutual agreement or randomly. 2. Game version: SoD 3.2 (4.0) + HD mod, WT by mutual consent. To avoid violating the basic rules of the games and when playing on the skirmish template, it is recommended to use version 1.02 of the HW_rules_mod patch. 3. Color in the draw tables is for the first generation. Then colors are changed after each SUBJECTIVE restart. 4. The template selection is made by crossing out from a list of 9 templates: 2SM4d(3), Balance, skirmish (at 200% difficulty), Jebus cross, Mini-Nostalgia, Diamond, 8mm6a, 6LM10a, and Spider. The player marked in blue in the table begins crossing out the template. By mutual agreement, playing on any other template is permitted. This matter must be discussed with the tournament judges in advance. 5. Rules are standard. Any changes to the game rules by mutual consent of the players are allowed, except for changing the Favorite Castle and the Fair Play rule. Additional rules by template: Mini-Nostalgia. The tournament participant marked in blue in the table begins choosing the castles for computer secondaries. When colors change, the selection is not repeated; the same computer castles chosen by the player remain their secondaries. Diamond. The participant marked in red in the table removes the extra (ninth) castle. If favorite castles are identical, the red player first removes one castle, then the blue player removes the second. skirmish (200%) rules of the M200 tournament, with patch.
II. Organizational Questions. 1. The tournament is official and regular. 2. Tournament goals: - play as a favorite castle and try to prove its strength, - gain valuable experience and improve one's level of play. 3. The tournament is conducted according to the Rules for organization, conduct, and participation in tournaments. 4. Players listed on the Blacklist are not eligible to participate in the tournament. 5. Managers and Judges: Scorpiona (ICQ: 469326983) - maintaining tables and report lists. GoedenDag (ICQ: 686339159) - tournament manager - deadlines, pairing issues, statistics. Gomunguls (ICQ: 499978341) - judge - disputed situations in games, rules. Pit for LM (ICQ: 471401475) - organizational issues, judging. Disputed issues between players are resolved by the managers; disputed issues between players and managers are resolved by AK. Managers have the right to make any changes to the regulations and rules during the tournament if necessary. 6. For each game played, participants must submit a report and confirmation in this thread. Reports must be submitted according to the following scheme:
Group. Game date. Player 1 Nick (color, castle, starting hero, main hero) game result - def, lose, draw Player 2 Nick (color, castle, starting hero, main hero), template, game time.
Starting from the playoff games, it is necessary to attach game saves to the reports. Saves of all games must be kept until the end of the tournament and presented upon first request by the tournament managers or any member of AK. 7. Information on the progress of the tournament is updated as needed and is located at the beginning of this thread. 8. All tournament games go into the seasonal rating. The list of tournament reports is also located at the beginning of this thread. 9. The tournament winner and players who take 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded Medals for their avatars:
Award authors: RAPER and ColdRain.
III. Deadlines. All tournament participants must strictly observe the announced deadlines: 1. Immediately after the start of a stage or round, contact your opponent(s) for preliminary game arrangements. To agree means to reach an agreement after negotiations and discussion. A proposal without a response will not be considered an agreement. 2. Temporary problems (with internet, travel, personal) must be reported to the tournament managers. 3. Preferred time for tournament games is daytime (12-24 MSK) on weekends and evening (19-24 MSK) on weekdays. If a participant is unable to play at this time, the absence of a game result will be interpreted by the managers in favor of their opponent.
Registration - September 15 - October 9, 2013. Draw - October 12, 2013. The draw was conducted taking into account the declared castle and the participant's level of play based on results from other tournaments. Tournament Start - October 12, 2013. Stage 1. Qualification. October 12-18. Stage 2. Groups. Deadline for each game - 2 weeks. Round 1. October 12-25. Round 2. October 26 - November 8. Round 3. November 9-22. Round 4. November 23 - December 6. Round 5. December 7-20. December 21, 22 - make-up games. Stage 3. Transition Games. December 24, 2013 - January 1, 2014. Stage 4. Playoffs. From January 1, 2014. Deadline for one game in the lower bracket - 2 weeks. In the upper bracket, the first two rounds - 2 weeks, from the third round - 4 weeks.
Estimated tournament duration - 6 months.
IV. Regulations.
1. Qualification. Two games to bring the number of participants down to 96.
2. Group Stage. 16 groups of 6 people. Round-robin tournaments. Each player in a group plays one game against all others. In total, each must play 5 games. 1 point is awarded for a win, 0.5 to each for a draw, and 0 for a loss.
Two weeks are given for each game. The deadline for all games is December 21. Games can be played in any order. If a player has not played the required number of games by the end of a round, they must explain the reasons on the forum or by contacting the tournament managers personally. "Disappeared" participants will be disqualified and replaced by players from the reserve list.
4 players with the highest number of points advance from each group to the playoffs. 1st-2nd place (32 players) enter the upper bracket, 3rd-4th go directly to the lower bracket. In case of equal points, places are distributed by additional indicators (in order of priority): 1. Berger Coefficient. 2. Head-to-head match. 3. Points earned in a game "weigh" more than technical wins. 4. If it is impossible to determine who advances to the playoffs by previous indicators, players will be offered a transition games scheme, or places will be determined by random draw.
Group stage results are in the 4th post of the thread. Group reports are in the 5th and 6th posts of the thread.
4. Full Double Elimination. 64 players. The playoff draw is conducted so that players from the same group in the upper bracket do not meet until the final, and in the lower bracket such a meeting occurs as late as possible. That is, during the draw, groups are "shifted" relative to each other. In the upper bracket, the 1st place of one group plays the 2nd place of another group; in the lower bracket, 3rd place plays 4th place from another group. Draw is in the 7th post of the thread.
Each pair plays one game; draws are impossible at this stage. By agreement, matches consisting of several games can be played, but they must fit within the deadlines allocated for the round. Upper and lower bracket final matches are played as best-of-3 (until 2 wins). To win the tournament in the superfinal match, the winner of the upper bracket only needs to win 2 games; the winner of the lower bracket must win 3 games.
1. During the whole tournament every participant plays for his chosen favorite town. If two similar towns meet then players can come to a mutual agreement about starting heroes. If they can't, heroes are set to random. 2. The game version is SoD 3.2 (4.0) + HDmod or under mutually agreed terms - WT. When you play skirmish it is necessary to use version 1.02 of patch HW_rules_mod. 3. The color in the drawing tables is only for the first generation. After each unnecessary restart (only 111+111+111 or 111+112 or 113) colors must be swapped. 4. The template for the game will be chosen by elimination procedure from the list of 9 templates: 2SM4d(3), Balance, skirmish (200%), Jebus cross, Mini-Nostalgia, Diamond, 8mm6a, 6LM10a, Spider. Blue player starts the procedure. 5. Rules for online games. It is allowed to agree mutually on any rules changes except changing the favorite castle and Fair Play rule. Additional rules for some templates: Mini-Nostalgia. CPU castles are chosen starting from a player marked as "blue" in tables. After restarts and color change CPU castles remain intact (you should have the same neighbors). Diamond. Player marked as "red" in tables eliminates the 9th castle. If favorite castles are the same then red eliminates first castle, blue - the second. skirmish (200%) rules of M200 tournament, using patch.
The tournament is official, regular.
1. Tournament chief: Scorpiona (ICQ: 469326983), GoedenDag (ICQ: 649119136). Tournament judge: Gomunguls (ICQ: 499978341), Pit for LM (ICQ: 471401475). 2. Each game should end with a report and confirmation in this topic. Please, make the reports about your games according to the following template:

Group stage statistics. Total 234 games counted (incl. qualifiers and transitions). In groups, results are recorded in 14 matches. Red won in 128 games (55%), blue in 104 (45%).

The winning Castle received 16 points, the second place – 15 points, the third place received 14 points, and each subsequent place received one point less... In cases where Castles were eliminated in the playoffs at the same stage, all of them received the maximum score for the highest possible place (for example, a Castle that took 5th-6th place received 12 points, for 9th-16th place – 8 points, and for 13th-16th place – 4 points). In the Favorites-1 Tournament, the top 17 Castles received points (with places 14-17 receiving 3 points each). All points were summed up.
