Whose side are you on in the conflict tearing Skyrim apart? Are you with the Stormcloaks? Or with the Imperial Legion? And why?

I chose the side of the Empire because the Stormcloaks believe it was foolish to ban Talos, but if the White-Gold Concordat hadn't been signed, the Empire would have been destroyed in the Great War. Even in the biography of Titus Mede II (he is the emperor; his biography was found on one resource), it says that "the emperor agreed to the humiliating demands of the White-Gold Concordat in order to give time to strengthen the Empire and gather forces...". That's my point of view.

Of course, I won't support someone who kills a legitimate emperor and aims to take his place (whether in a fair duel or not – it doesn't matter, brains are more important than honor, and my brain suggests that a deadly duel with the emperor won't lead to anything good). I won't support an elven spy. I won't support a rebel. I won't support a vile nationalist. So, by the method of elimination, we get the Empire. Besides, "Imperial" sounds proud.

I also sided with the Empire; many of their goals are the same as those of Ulfric (except for the assassination of the king, for example, because in some cases, overthrowing the ruler can be beneficial).
Moreover, Ulfric's actions, despite his policy of "Death to the elven invaders!", will only weaken both Skyrim and the Empire against them. And he lacks many of the personal qualities that are useful for a ruler.

Ment, Ulfric killed not the emperor, but the High King of Skyrim.

Ah, yes, they are just a part of the Empire. But that's not the main point.

No dilemma, no choice. Once I figured out what was going on in the game, I started to sympathize with the Empire. I've gotten used to it since the last installment. And Ulfric didn't appeal to me. And in general, a Khajiit shouting "Skyrim for Nords!" looks ridiculous.
At the same time, I quietly assassinated the Emperor as part of the Dark Brotherhood. What a hypocrite I am.

"Imperial March" (let's call it that ;)) sounds almost identical, but it's much more musical! This moment always amused me.

I play as the Stormcloaks only because it's easier to join them. It's easier to defeat an Ice Wraith than to clear out a fort.

And before, I thought Ulfric was independent, so that's why I played as him, but it turns out he's with the Thalmor... I need to reread the Thalmor dossier on him.

No, it's quite stupid. The main character is a refugee, judging by what the Imperials say. And Khajiit and Bosmer are seen as inferior beings by the Altmer, used as meat and servants.

and I used to think that Ulfric was on his own, that's why I played for him, but it turned out he's with the Thalmor...

[br][/br]I hadn't gotten that far. I couldn't even imagine that he was with those long-eared, nasty creatures!

I'm deserting to the Empire, I'll be wearing a Haytham Kenway costume from Assassin's Creed 3 and will take down the Stormcloaks. However, I'll still kill the Emperor after I find the strength to complete a couple of quests.

I wonder, is it possible to fight against the Empire/Storm Brothers using "connections"? Because I haven't managed to do it yet.
