As long as there's an idea, I'll jot it down:
If we're going to give additional bonuses based on factions, let's keep it as simple as possible, for example, by distributing initial stats or adding to the initial stats. Let's give +3 Knowledge to the Genies, +3 Defense to Humans (both living and undead) and Dwarves, and +3 Attack to Elves (both dark and light) and Demonic factions (Demons and Orcs).
