Awakening of Evil

How do you lift the siege on the human castle? I received the quest, but the orcs near the castle are not clickable; maybe I'm missing something? By the way, how do you retrieve the artifact from Alar? And where can I find the required number of sinners? I've been running around the map for several days, trying to complete the second mission.
