TOURNAMENT TROUBLES!

I disagree... why cram everything into one place? In six months, it will be a complete mess, and for every informative post, there will be ten with stupid questions. I don't see the point.

Not to argue (I'm tired of it), but just an alternative:

1) A newbie comes along and looks at the rules topic. (Why would they need to read 10 pages of arguments if they only need the rules?)

In a topic with 10 or more pages of discussion, the rules are stated in the very first post, so the newbie looks at the rules, which are currently reflected in the "Rules for Offline Tournaments + FAQ" topic, and if they want, they can ask their question in THIS same topic. What difference does it make if there are discussions here if a person just wants to read the rules and doesn't care about the discussions? Why read them? Your closed topic doesn't offer any advantages. It should just be the first post in the rules topic, and that's it.

2) They don't understand something, and they ask in the topic: "Who wants to play in offline tournaments." They get a detailed explanation there....

I think you'll agree with me that it's not intuitively clear that you should ask your question about the rules in the "Who wants to play in offline tournaments" topic. I'm not a newbie, but I admit that I wouldn't have thought to go look at that topic to discuss the rules until you said so. The title just doesn't seem to relate to that. Honestly, I've never even gone there - I figured there's nothing new for me there, and I don't want to waste my time crawling through the forum and reading everything. I only frequent two or three topics at most. Or am I the only one? :)

3) the newbie becomes experienced and starts to come up with their own ideas... for these purposes, the "TOURNAMENT MATTERS" topic is best.

How does suggesting ideas differ from posting questions about unclear rules? Nothing. In both cases, there is a need to convey one's thoughts to everyone who is involved in the same thing.

If everything is in one topic, it will be more convenient - and reasonable moderation of this topic will prevent it from turning into a mess. But if you think that three topics filled with the same types of questions are better than one, then I don't quite understand why. In all three topics, different people will ask the same questions, often repeating them and starting with the words: "I don't know where to ask - I'll ask here." In my opinion, the simpler, the better. I'm not insisting, just suggesting. I understand the rules and won't dig through all of this just for fun.

But to finally put together a high-quality and effective model of tournament rules from the set of pieces that are currently scattered around the forum - that's a goal worth pursuing.
