Lesha, what kind of qualifying tournaments are these? People simply don't have the money, or they're holding qualifying tournaments with large entry fees so that the winners can travel at the expense of the losers, but that's not a great idea...
And again, it's all about spite... My tournament is for those who CANNOT come to this CIS event for some reason.

Yeah, it seems like Vika has the same idea. ;) Let's all hold a "CIS championship" in our own backyards. Then we won't have to go anywhere, it's too far, and people in Yekaterinburg will stay for the local event. Let Lizard hold it in Minsk, let the guys in Ukraine team up and hold it there too, and NO ONE HAS TO TRAVEL - we'll have a CIS event in 5 different places.

This loses the original meaning and global scope of the event! What prevents you from holding your own offline events for those who cannot afford the CIS event on other dates? Hold your M-200 in March, and that's it, it's the same thing, only the people who have already bought tickets for the CIS event will be able to come to you if they want. By setting the same dates, you are simply splitting the audience and undermining the Main Event, and you are also ruining your own attendance!

Roman, you could have added a little more and, instead of this "Petersburg" event, you could have made it to the CIS event in Volgograd, it's not that far for you, not for the whole duration, but just for a few days. I don't know what your reasons are, but it used to be different! There were no alternatives, everyone went to the one Main Event, and if they couldn't afford it, they "made do" with gatherings in the local scene, but on different dates.

Lesha, that's how it used to be. We held qualifying tournaments in different cities, each was given three places, and the finalists themselves decided where to play the final and on which version: we didn't favor anyone based on past achievements, 1 point or 4, one person - one vote. And it was the finalists, the best players in the CIS, who voted.

Eric, I remember perfectly well how it used to be! And it would be better if it stayed that way. No one had thought of holding their own offline event on the same dates as the CIS event before. But this year, so many people have appeared who want to dilute the attendance at the CIS event. It's amazing.
