Question for the experts. I'm playing through a campaign and, in addition to the main hero, I hire several more. Sometimes they and the main hero move on to the next map in the campaign, and sometimes they don't. What does this depend on?

The scenario specifies how many heroes will move on to another (not always the next) mission in the campaign. It also indicates the maximum level to which the heroes can be developed.
