I don't particularly like the Barbarians either (I used to dislike them even more), but that doesn't negate their fairly good abilities. Objectively, they have them. The problem is that I don't find it interesting to play as them. Because the gameplay is somewhat linear and monotonous. A Barbarian is essentially a lone wolf. And in battle, they are monotonous.
I only see one solution – to level up Scouting, Tactics, or Nobility.
