Yes, and the protagonists free him so he can help against the arriving Krigans (he had some incredibly powerful spell that he wanted to use in the war against his brother, but for some reason, he didn't have time). In the seventh part, he succeeds and becomes the king of Dey, but during the plot, he loses power and flees. Later, in the same game, he helps free his brother from the captivity of the same Krigans. Catherine still wants to execute him, but Roland only banishes him. And after that, nothing is heard about him.
