How do you envision it? A whirlwind tour across Europe with three rounds?

What's the problem? If the organizer isn't lazy and keeps the players engaged, 5 rounds can be played comfortably over 5 full days of gameplay. Add half a day for arrival and departure, and you get the format of Ekaterinburg-2012.
