Well, in this composition, the entire song is almost at the same volume, and the tempo is practically the same; it just slows down sometimes. One rhythm is played with both hands, alternating. When you play different rhythms with both hands, it becomes more complex, especially when combined with alternating drum patterns, plus fills and other elements.

SOAD has some complex parts, and Muse has them too, and so on. Of course, not in every song, and not throughout the entire song, and they aren't the most complex parts in the world, but they are there.
