Just now, my Monk had quite a battle with a Vampire. I kept getting bad matchups, he dealt a lot of damage to me, then I placed a bunch of wards, and on the last map, he brought my health down to one. Then, he probably figured that I would defeat him on the next turn anyway, so he surrendered.
