We scouted everything, and the artifact gave 2 consumables for 6 angels and an item for the Elves. On turn 121, I break the first consumable, on turn 122, the second, and move towards turn 124. Oops, I don't see anything in the center, so I take a couple of objects and head towards the more appealing part of the center. I see a noob, and on the next turn, I watch as the opponent's main unit breaks the Gate of Oblivion on 131. I attack, but he buys himself out and runs around the center again. I attack again, and the situation repeats. Then it dawns on me that he took the second central town before breaking the Gate of Oblivion. I ask the opponent, and it turns out that he used a Dimension Door spell to avoid breaking the Gate of Oblivion because he didn't have expert terrain and the losses would have been incompatible with life.
Then, a Google search, reading the rules, and a technical defeat, although with all other things being equal, he would have just rushed with units and stats. The opponent's only hope was magic, but the cloak negated all his efforts.
