One of the advantages of the lack of voice acting in Morrowind is that NPCs in dialogues recognize not only race and gender but also the player's name. Although in real life, I get annoyed when I'm addressed by name constantly, in games, I actually like it. Also, by the way, NPCs in dialogues more often address you based on your race, while in Oblivion and Skyrim, everything feels more impersonal.
In Skyrim, the notes also recognize your name, but I don't remember that happening in Oblivion; there, it's only based on race, hardcore style. Although, maybe it's related to the fact that my Oblivion version is in Russian, while Morrowind and Skyrim are the original English versions.
