Start with an external dwelling of elves, not bad. But then a mix of bad luck and clumsy play.
I revealed a Dragon Utopia in an adjacent treasure zone, roads are long so the plan was to gather Dragon Fly Hives and head there. With the Dragon Fly Hives, a nasty situation occurred - from 4 hives I dug up only 20 Wyverns. No angels, simply no gold. I never reached my own town, which later severely impacted the tempo.
The opponent's Necro appeared with stats, fighting in the field was not an option - another few days of tempo lost. But I had a Dimension Door scroll. I build a Mage Guild in the village, Dessa fends off AI noob hero raids that stubbornly try to take it through wasteland. Just as I was ready to build the 5th level, the AI brings an overwhelming army. I surrender the town, buy troops, halve the army with lightning bolts, evacuate the scout hero. I retake the town and a major fail - greed stopped me from buying at least 2 Eyes from the external dwelling (resources were tight), I attack with Solmyr, and he has the full setup with Ballista, First Aid Tent, and Ammo Cart. In short, I didn't kill. Next turn, he takes the empty town again. Basically lost several days for nothing (Kirryusha meanwhile was unsuccessfully exploring an empty treasure zone).
And the main mistake was going to take that same Dragon Utopia. The next turn, the opponent takes another very strategic tree town with Dragon Utopias and a Griffin Conservatory, and afterward leaves no chance to retake it.

There was a chance to hold on with a good stack of elves if I had evened out the stats. But I blew that chance.
