A couple of news items.

8. A male praying mantis is unable to mate when it has its head. Therefore, the mating act in praying mantises begins with the female biting off the male's head.

And this is nonsense. Female praying mantises do indeed eat males after mating, as do female spiders, but the head has nothing to do with it. According to reputable zoologists and doctors of science, females begin to eat their partner from any part of the body - either after the act or during it (while the male is close to the female and it is easy to grab him).
